I recently got an original X-Box console and copy of Halo 2 on the cheap, is it possible to still play H2 with this setup?

Yeah it's still possible, you will have to wait through a very long map download before you're able to play.
Just go to the multiplayer menu, download all the map packs (they're free) and enjoy.
One thing, the map pack downloader won't work in 60hz PAL, this should only be a problem for people using VGA.

Who gives a fuck its a three year warranty and the new ones seem much better. I have an 08 premium with HDMI and it hasnt had any problems and is quiter than my 2005/6 one which I sold.

A quick Xbox Original question: I want to play GTA:SA, so I putt he disk in and Im connected to live, It downloads the update and all but It wont let me do any live functions, like check my friends list, go into private chat ect.. Is that just the price I have to pay?

I think that Halo 2 is going to be one of those games like Diablo 2, Starcraft, and Quake 3 that no matter how many years go by there's always going to be people playing it online because of the huge multiplayer impact it made.
