its hard for me to find movies i like. i can research to find movies about certain subjects but that doesnt make them good.

anyway, here is a list of some movies i like, if you think of anything else i should add to my repertoire replies will be duly noted:

i know it seems like i like movies about drugs, and i do, but just because a movies about drugs doesnt make it great you know? like naked lunch was ok, but i think the books much better.

i like movies that really pull you in and give you an understanding of what its really about. like in blow. it wasnt as much about coke as it was that one last deal and that great life that was torn apart by "the man."

and their are a lot of movies that have good underlyeing themes, but the movies them selves suck.

i feel like their are probably a lot of movies idk about because theyre kind of old or something and reading imbd summaries is not a very good way of telling if a movie is "good" as opposed to it just being about something that sounds good, but the movie its self sucks at portraying the message.

I tell anyone the first movie I would ever reccomend is American Beauty. At first it seems like a chick flick, looking at the poster, or even the trailer, but It has everything you would ever want. Boobs, guns, and drugs. not in that order. But either way, It's my favorite movie ever, and you should watch it.

Small Faces. Story about Glasgow Gangs with afew street fights/airgun shootings in the mix. You probably won't find it.

The rocky horror picture show. It may seem weird but if you give it some thought its a great movie. Also if you can see it in a theatre being shadowcast go its alot of fun.

Eastern Promises, The Godfather, Goodfellas, perhaps A History of Violence.

It has everything you would ever want. Boobs, guns, and drugs.

That's the worst way I can think of for selling American Beauty.

I can second Eastern Promises, Its a great movie. The ending is kinda surprising too.

Theatre version of RHPS is pretty cool, there's an indie theater in the local college district that has it at midnight on weekends quite frequently.

You know what's even better than RHPS though? Phantom of the Paradise.

Brian de Palma = win.
