well i am trying to download the movie "coffee and cigarettes" from hulu.com.

they run ad's before their movies and when you try to skip ahaead in them.

the problem is:
when i try to download the movie, real player only downloads the ad, even if i let the movie play some.

is their a fix/trick for this or some kind of a way around it?

I'm not too familiar with hulu, but they probably stream the video but let the ad stay as a single file. If you're lucky, you can find the address of the stream and put it into vlc player and rip the stream, but otherwise I'd say you might be out of luck. Sites these days do a heck of a job to prevent you from downloading/ripping their copyrighted streaming material. My guess is that they don't even use a traditional kind of stream anyway.

Sorry friend, you're pretty much shit out of luck. The way they stream their media is a pain in the arse. You can try using 'Orbit downloader', works for most streams I download. But I'm not sure about Hulu. Give it a go though.

well i downloaded media catcher, it seems to work but when i download using the recorder, will it record the ENTIRE page or will it only record the movie?

Could you give me a link to what you want to download? I might check it out and see what I can do.
