Yeah so I have a few odds and ends lying around as I' sure everyone in DIY has or wishes they did. So I thought everyone could post stuff they having lying around doing nothing that could be used for something.
To get discussion rolling I have a Nokia 6233 with 64mb microSD card, portable dvd player, 4gb usb drive, a floppy disk container full of 3.1/2 floppies, webcam, 10 gig HDD, old keyboards and ball mice, original gameboy with a bit of a damaged screen, obsolete remote controls...
Any ideas jump to mind for anyone?
The phone can be used as a remote activator for something (yeah, I'll have to go into detail about that), and you can salvage a couple of IR LED's from the remotes, perhaps the webcam can see IR light...
The other stuff I can't find a use for right now, but then again, I haven't slept in approximately 900 years...

You might be able to rig up some sort of security cam + screen with the web cam and dvd player... SOME portable DVD players have video input options... extremely few though... Not to mention the web cam is probably USB which would be the wrong plug, and might need some sort of signal converter for the video anyways... dunno...
You can put a bunch of portable applications and/or a live linux distro on the USB drive. Its what I would do.

Hook together parts from the keyboards and ball mice to build a new game controller (mouseball as a joystick, perhaps).
Or even better, yet on the same brainwave, create a whole new keyboard in whatever layout you think best, add a mouse to it as a trackball, then sell it. With the profits buy more mice and keyboards, mod them and sell them for even more profit.
