Well let's talk about cheap beers we like or don't like. I buy a ton of beer a week so I'd be glad to hear suggestions.

Here's mine from best to worst:

Coors Extra Gold - My favorite, hands down. Great taste, 15 bucks for a 30 pack.

Genesee Cream Ale/Beer - Both are pretty good, the ale's a little better IMO. I get this from time to time.

Pabst Blue Ribbon - Tried this for the first time not too long ago. Much better than I thought it would be. Wouldn't make a habit of buying it though.

Busch - Eh. Drinkable. But that's all I can say. I never buy this. Actually though I think I like this better than Bud. Not because of the taste but because Bud makes me shit weird.

Natural Ice/light, milwaukee best - No, just no.

Cheap Beers make me wanna puke but the ones I did drink back in the day were

Steel Reserve 211: Get's you fucked up for a cheap price, tastes is kinda sweet/metal taste

Ice house: more drinkable, gets the job done, not special but cheap priced..aluminam(sp?)taste from the can makes it worse

King Cobra: Can't stand the shit anymore, I used to drink these when I binged and it was cheap, but now even the smell of this shit makes me wanna puke

Natural Ice: Same as ice house basically, probably cheaper

Red Dog: Very cheap price, drinkable

During high school parties I used to drink a huge amount of Keystone Light playing beer pong because around here we can buy it in 30 pk. cans for $12.49.

Pabst Blue Ribbon is good too and only a couple more dollars than Keystone. Good swill for camping trips.

Probably my favorite of the macro lagers is Rolling Rock but it's priced slightly above most of the others.

However I don't stock either of these regularly in my refrigerator. That precious space goes to much better brews.

Yeah, I wouldn't exactly classify it was "best."

However it's quite popular with transients in hobo camps.

I am an expert on this subject!

And the beers you've chosen are considered expensive by people who drink cheap beers.

I drink Old Milwaukee Ice tallboys. It's 10.50ish (Canadian) for a six pack of tall cans. Generally the cheap beer of choice around here. 5.5% alcohol

The cheapest of cheap is a 40 of malt liquor, Colt 45, Max Ice or Old English. It's like 5.50 for forty ounces of gross beer but its like 7+% alcohol.

Pabst Blue Ribbon is like the universal cheep beer, and by far the best quality. I <3 PBR with my life.

I'm partial to Keystone Light, but that's just me. Keep in mind, after the third or fourth one, these all taste like water.

Milwaukee's Be(a)st and I have had some interesting nights...;)

Imported Guatemalan beer. It's around $2.50 (28~32 pesos) a six pack right now at Walmarts here. It's make your liver crust and your eyesight fail.

Cool shit.

I was at 40ozmaltliquor.com the other day and saw a 40 oz. of Octoberfest beer from Mexico. Pretty much the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Man, beer sucks. Natural Ice? Old Best? How about some jenkem while you're at it? After all, you don't drink for taste.

I think of myself as a up and coming Beer connoisseur. In reality though, I am far from it. :( My experience with Beer first came in high school. Before that was just sipping my Dads beer and pretending to enjoy it. Anyways, in Highschool it was either light beers (water) for Beer pong, or shotgunning mass amounts the cheapest, nastiest (motivation to get it down faster) canned beer I could find.

Once I turned legal drinking age, not too long ago, I made a trip almost every week down to the LCBO and buy a mix and match six pack. I would just try random things- a Japanese Lager, a Brazilian favourite, or just things that came in kick ass bottles or cans.

Yes, I leave the hard liquors for parties and getting drunk. But almost every night I pour myself a Beer I never had before and try to notice different flavours between different beers.

-----------------

Anyways IMO, beer is for relaxing after a hard work day. Life is too short for the cheap beer. Chug cheap tequila for getting drunk.

STROH'S

You'd change you mind pretty quick if you bought 3 30 packs a week. And up to 1 a day in the summer months. I can appreciate a good beer but cheap beer definately has it's place.

Can't stand the stuff. can't put my finger on what it is exactly.

Definitely agreed.

There's a reason most folks, even beer lovers, don't go and quaff a porter or stout after mowing the lawn, and go with something like, say, Rolling Rock instead. It's more refreshing after such.
