Shit, i've not bought a bag in a good while, not really had the need to buy one. What do you prefer man bags or back packs?

For school, I think messenger backs are better. It's easier to put a laptop and folder in there. It also looks stylish.

The only problem I find with them is weight distribution. I ride my bike everywhere, so a messenger bag feels better, and it's easier to sling it around and take stuff out of it without taking it off, but when I'm walking around school all day I wish that I had a backpack.

Type "Swiss Gear backpacks" in google. From teh makers of original Swiss Army Knife, oh yes. They have some good laptop-ready backpacks as well; I just got one this Christmas and it's great (laptop pouch, mp3 wiring, cell holder, bottle holder) lots of shit.

edit: Here's a pic of the inside where I store my laptop. http://i42.tinypic.com/33xaqs7.jpg

I'd go with a Mountain Equipment Coop or Dakine.

I'm rocking the Dakine right now. Had it for almost a year and it's still in almost perfect condition, depsite having been through alot. Comes with lifetime warranty too.

I picked up a canvas army-style backpack for $.50 at a garage sale last summer. It was a steal, and it actually looks pretty good. Tough as hell, too. You could drag it across campus with rocks in it all year if you wanted to.

Mine looks kinda like that, except a tan color canvas, not olive.
