I have to say I like Rock Bands soundtrack better. There seems to be more recent songs on Rock Band. I like newer songs better than older songs. Con't get me wrong, old songs are good, but you have heard them a million times and they lose their luster.

I still prefer Guitar hero over any Rock band game BUT the only fail about this game is the lack of Through the fire anf flames and Devil went down to georgia. Satch boogie is ok but not that hard.

Whilst I don't have either of these games, my sister just bought a wii, so I might go halves on the guitar hero bundle. She just wanted to get the guitar and game, but I totally want to try the drums. What sold me is that guitar hero has one more drum pad than rock band. Plus, I just think the guitar hero controllers are a bit cooler. I happen to be a metal guitar player, who wouldn't even think of buying a strat, so i'm sort of biased there.

I've also never played rock band. But I did hear that rock band has the song "Clouds over California" by Devildriver, and I fuckin love that song. I just wish the drums had double kick, it would give the skill level a higher ceiling.

But, both games sort of piss me off. I could play pretty much any song on both games on an actual guitar, but I'm pretty terrible with a guitar shaped controller.
And fuck you guys saying "Guitar hero sucks, learn to play real guitar!" That's completely irrelevant. I do play real guitar, and guitar hero is still fun as hell.

Considering some of the Rock Band DLC is Miley Cyrus and The Naked Brothers Band, it'd be subjective to say that all of the DLC is actual songs. Good songs. So once you narrow down the list to real good songs, there's, say, fifty? Add those to the regular setlist.

However, you've got to give them credit. Many people who play this game are young kids, and not everyone has the same taste in music. Hell, a week or two ago they released a pack of country songs. This week they're releasing songs by Ray Orbison, Jethro Tull, and Deep Purple. Next year they're releasing the entire Pearl Jam "Ten" album.

This is where I disagree. I like the original SG Guitar Hero guitars. The fret bar had an end to it and didn't just like...sit freely with hardly any tension. When it clicked,I knew absolutely sure that I hit that note and it's not the guitar being fruity. I also liked the raised buttons better because I could position and feel where my fingers are easier because they are raised off the neck. On the Rock Band guitars I have to try and feel where the solid piece of plastic is that separates the fret buttons to position my fingers.

Also,the clicking never bothered me. I automatically just filtered it out and wouldn't even hear it while i'm listening to the game.

They create a very artificial experience adverse to playing the real guitar.

RB guitar has FRETS you feel them with your FINGERS not with your whole fucking hand like the giant raised buttons.

the strum is LOOSE and not solid, emulating the strings of a guitar. In fact strumming on the RB guitar with a pick is actually pretty helpful.


These features require the people to play by feeling not by noise of the controller.


Granted, this way of playing is a lot more easy to feel and understand on a real guitar, and isn't quite the same on a controller. But as a guitarist before these games came out, I seriously prefer the RB controller. Hopefully from what I've elaborated on you can understand why I get so pissed about the GH controllers...
