View Full Version : UFC 92 The ultimate
UFC 92 'The Ultimate' is held tomorrow.
Griffin is fighting Evans for the light heavyweight belt.
Noguiera (spell) is fighting MIR.
Rampage is fighting Silva.
This is a great card, all very interesting fights with great history behind them.
Griffin and Evans is an interesting fight, Evans coming off a great knockout too the ledgend, the Ice Man (i was absolutely devestated) and griffin, well he was great against rampage. Evans has been smashing pretty much everyone and i think Griffin is going to have his hands full.
My prediction is griffin will win because off his cardio and he will break Evans down round by round.
The Rampage Silva fight is going to be awesome aswell. Silva has already knocked rampage out cold with a sick knee. If ya havent seen it youtube it! And yeh if your a ufc fan you know this will be good. Rampage will take win but i dont think it will go the distance, im thinking plenty off blood and probably a stoppage, silva has plenty off scar tissue from fighting bare knuckle fights in brazil. This will probably be a big problem. Especially if rampage gets on top off him and pounds the shit out of him.
I wont really talk about the Mir fight because i dont know much. I do know MIR has been through some tough shit (alcoholic) and is a former champion. And noguiera from what ive seen is great aswell. Both are ground fighters. Should be be a good good heavyweight title fight.
Some say these fights have potential too be fight of the year material. I'm looking forward too it.

cant fucking wait...griffin nog and silva for the wins
Here are my odds
80% Griffin- Decision or Submission
20% Evans- TKO or KO
75% Nogueira- Submission
25% Mir- Decision
90% Silva- KO
10% Rampage- Decision or TKO
75% Nogueira- Submission
25% Mir- Decision
90% Silva- KO
10% Rampage- Decision or TKO
Get real, you think Frank "I'm a cripple" Mir has a better chance of beating the 2nd best heavyweight in the world than Rampage has at beating Silva?
I'm picking:
Nog
Evans
Rampage
Massenzio
Al-Turk (I think Kongo will probably win but I like Mustafa)
Other than the Nog fight they could all go either way to be honest, that's why it's such a good card.
Oh, and I'm staying up till 6am to watch this live!

That's the spirit.
Kongo looked like shit against heath herring. Someone needs too talk shit about his mum and get him stirred up, theres just no agression. Saying that he will probably still win.
I am interested too see Dollaway fight. He was great in the Ultimate fighter series until he lost against sadollah. I thought he was unlucky too get caught with an arm bar the first time they fought. But too get caught twice really showed a lack off experience.
Here are my odds
80% Griffin- Decision or Submission
20% Evans- TKO or KO
75% Nogueira- Submission
25% Mir- Decision
90% Silva- KO
10% Rampage- Decision or TKO
I'm fucking glad i didnt make a bet with your advice. I wish i made a bet against you tho.
Evans destroyed Griffin in the third round for those who didnt see. The first two rounds went too Griffin IMO. Griffin ended up on his back, not sure if it was a takedown or a slip from a punch? It was all over from there though.
Mir destroyed Nogueira. Only person ever too stop him. MIR dominated the standup and knocked him down and from there a vicious ground and pound. Again sambob.
Rampage and silvas fight was awesome. Sambob, take a look at rampages boxing, please. Might save you a paragraph or 5.
Impressive KO from rampage. So beautiful to watch. He's back.
Kongo defeated mustafa in a nice TKO aswell. Very good UFC event.
Now who'snext inline for the light heavy weight title shot? Rampage against Machida for a title shot?
Rampage got lucky with Silva. Watch the slow motion. He literally had his head down and was looking at the floor when he threw that big punch.
Mir was doing basically what I expected, dominating with his underrated stand up. But the fight was stopped too soon once it hit the ground. Nogueira was clearly putting Mir in his guard to defend himself.
As for Griffin, his kicks got too predictable to work the way he wanted. Good win for Evans.

Haha what a load of bullshit.
Rampage was keeping his chin down, he threw several punches like that, it's clearly his new style and he plain owned Silva. Hate to say I told you so. 10% Rampage hahahahaha.
I can't believe Mir won but I take back all the shit I said about him, that was the performance of his life. You're crazy if you think it got stopped too soon, I know its Nog but he could barely stand up after the finish, was wobbling all over the ring.
As for Griffin, he's predictable because he's the most over-rated fighter in the lhw division and went up against one of the most under-rated. Evans is great and Forrest didn't deserve the belt in the first place.

Evans is a fucking fag.
He won last night, that't that. About forest "ground work" or lack of, i did not see any of it, he did not show any of it. One of Evans trainers hugged forest after the match and it was a hold that you do when on the ground and getting your head smashed in. Pretty basic.

He doesn't have shit, that's a simple fact. I know he has a lot of nuthuggers because he's a plastic paddy and has put in some gutsy performances but at the end of the day he is mediocre in every aspect, he will never hold the belt again.
LOL @ HARDMAN dude rampage did not get lucky. That was just great boxing. He was dodging punches with great defense with his arms. Head movement was perfect aswell. It was just a sen-fucking-santional shot.
Yes i agree with you rawk, griffins deffinetly is over rated. He fought rampage for the title at a very good time, but not for rampage. seems rampage is better then ever now that he has moved is camp over too the uk with a whole new team, training with new guys.
haha Mir was smashing Nog on the ground, if the ref had let it go he would have done a serious concussion. Nog was no longer intelligently defending himself. Just like the stoppage in griffins fight.
As for who'snextfor evans, rampage should fight machida for the no.1 contender.

I'd like to see Machida (if he wins the Silva fight, that is not a forgone conclusion in my book, Thiago is a great fighter) get a title shot after his next fight he deserves it. In the meantime Rampage should have a re-match with Forrest or fight Shogun to put him next in line.

.
here ill weigh in on this subject
Rampage has always had good head movement and defense with his arms if you watched all of his other fights with Wand you might have seen that.
I will say that there is no such thing as a lucky shot. When you throw a punch and it KO's the punched there was no luck in it did exactly what it was intended to do.
However as Rogan said the more times you get shut off the easier it is get shut off again.
That said, Rampage did in a sense get lucky IMO he didnt win that fight Hendo and Cro Cop won it for him.

I didn't say he didn't have good head movement. He did. But he was throwing unaimed power punches. We all know Rampage is incredibly strong. A punch from him would stagger anyone no matter where it landed. He got a lucky knockout on Silva, just like Matt Serra did to Georges St Pierre.

I totally agree but to say it was luck there is not such thing. I personally wanted Wand to win but rampage connected with a very nicely placed hook and won the fight.
I dont think he could've ever done it though without Silva being previously Ko'ed. I have seen silva take such harder shots than that. And to say Rampage got lucky IMO is to diminish a stellar preformance by a good athlete.
