I won $200 in a poker game so I have a bit of money to throw into buying some cool shit. Heres what I've been thinking about getting

A Hi Definition Media Server.

You can just hook this thing up to your TV and it can access the wireless network and play shit off your harddrive on your TV.

Portable Entertainment Center

I really wanna get this one but its expensive as fuck. It doesn't just play DVDs it has a USB slot so you can hook external harddrives up to it and play AVIs and MPGs and shit. Is it worth it?

Anything that plays HD content is fucking cool to have if you have a decent HD tv but the HD media centre probably won't work, the average wireless home network isn't fast enough (in practice) to stream HD media, so unless you can connect an external HDD its useless.

Thats complete bullshit Ormy my friend does it all the time. I can stream movies off the internet wirelessly. You can probably wire this thing to the network too.

I can stream 720p HD across an average 802 G network without a problem...that box looks to be quite handy. I'd be wary about the Chinese build quality though.
