Okay, so I was thinking...
there are all these different types of government and all of these different subclasses within those types, so, if you could pick how you were to be governed...
What type of government would you chose... and why?

Dictatorship with me as the dictator.

Dictatorship with me as the dictator.

That's not you being governed.
That's you governing.

Well i govern myself then!

OK cerially, why not still a dictatorship, I think it could honestly work if a richous and just man were leading. I mean dictatorships have been given a bad wrap I think because every one in recent history has been a tyrant or incompetent. A dictatorship would solve some of the couption problems in my opinion as we wouldn't need to worry about who was financing a candidates campaign or who a candidate owed allegiances to And I think that this would free a leader up to make the decisions that were best for the people.

Also if a dictator gets out of hand overthrowing them could be easier than some other governments as there is only one person that needs killen.

... there is only one person that needs killen.
That's the problem in practice.
Supporters.
Sheep.
They have to be dealt with as well.

Naw.

Scientists might be highly intelligent, however it takes more than mere brainpower to run a country.

I personally would go with what this Greek philosopher said, (forgot his name) which is to have philosophers lead a country.

Even this is not the ideal; I believe with the advent of biotechnology we should soon be able to design people who are of sound moral character and who are also blessed with insight. These will be our leaders.

Demarchy. Leaders are chosen at random.

Look at most people you meet. Do you seriously think they are capable of choosing your government? Most people are either stupid or don't spend enough time thinking about their decision.

At least if some idiot is chosen they are only in power for one or two years. The chances of having an unkind dictator are dramatically reduced if they are in power for one or two years. To quote Batman "Either you die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

OP what is your ideal form of government?

Well, honestly the best form of government on paper is probably a Meritocracy, but in practice I'd like to see total individual sovereignty or nations made up of nuclear families that are direct democracies with a very loose treaty of peace and set trade regulations governing relations between nations.
Any improvements on that?
Any contradictions?:)

A representative democracy where only people with an IQ over a certain number can vote.

A representative democracy with a limited central gov't who's primary concern is the defense of the nation and a few other laws instead of interfering with it's citizens personal, social, and economic lives.

Minarchist, militantly antitheistic republic. Same structure as defined by the U.S. Constitution only with five presidents instead of just one. Corruption will be treated as treason and anyone found guilty will be executed upon conviction.

Libetarian Socialism, if I am the one being governed that is. I think Sweden is rather close to a pure socialist government from what I have heard, and if you threw in drug legalisation into the mix it would be Nirvana.

Yeah, but power is intoxicating. How long do you think one would last as a benevolent dictator?

Technocracy sounds good, but scientists aren't infallible.
