View Full Version : Secret stash hole?
I'm thinking of making a new stash place for things I want to hide stuff. I'm thinking of basically putting a hammer through the wall and putting a bit of cardboard in there to stop shit falling down.

And some "composites" just for fun.

IS this a good idea, or will my wall fall down. Now, I'm not gonna lie. This is gonna be a real redneck sorta job.

it's an exceptional idea, just don't hit a live wire. as far as storage, find a nice cylindric container, relatively shallow, and install it in said hole so shit don't fall down in the wall.

All depends who you are trying to hide it from. I wouldnt exactly say a hole in the wall with a piece of paper over it is an ingenious idea but its a start.. If your hiding it from your parents and they dont come in your room often then thats fine. If your trying to hide it from a drug sniffing dog then you might want to think of something else. Those cheap speakers that come apart usually do very well at hiding things. Anything you can easily open and put back together and still use.

Thanks for that. Although I thought cardboard would be easier, I'll definitely try a few materials.

Yes it's from parents that NEVER come in my room, I could just put them on my desk, but then I wouldn't feel secure. Right now they're stashed in my drawers. Hard to explain. But if they come in and the panel falls down, which it could, I would be fucked.

Go with something else then. Putting a hole IN the wall wouldn't be the best idea. Honestly try what I said. Put it in something that can still be used and easily accessed. I have MANY hiding spots and they all are very accessible. You should try making a false bottom on some of your drawers.

Remove the baseboard from the bottom of the wall, hammer away the wall behind it, stash stuff, and then put baseboard back over it. slightly more secure.
Other options for hiding:
put removable hard drive holder into computer, put stuff in the space where the hard drive would be if it were in.
take power outlets off, put stuff in the electrical box behind that, put the outlet back
get a big textbook or dictionary, cut out the center of every page leaving an border of about an inch and stash stuff in the hole in the middle, then put the book on a disused shelf.

a hollowed book is the most badass. Pick some book that nobody reads.

That hole looks small. Maybe you should think of sticking your stuff in the ps2 expansion pack that no1 ever uses:confused:

This is definitely the best advice in this thread, followed closely by the baseboard idea. I have a tiny little guitar amp back at home in Arizona that I can use as a stash spot relatively easily. A screwdriver is all I need, and every house has at least 3 sizes of both flat-head and philips-head, not that I need the flat-head to open the little bugger.

EDIT: My younger brother stashed things in his computer in the empty space where disc drives went. Just remove the front cover, place the stuff, replace front cover.

There's a whole eBook about stash holes. Search hiding places on warez-bb or something similar.
Tape shit to the top of your fan, under your keyboards pull out drawer, inside electronics that don't get too hot, on the bottom of your chair, inside a stapler, or w.e. else you can find. The sky's the limit, you just have to be creative.

Aither good idea is to set up a fake electrical supply point (as in the thing you plug things into) it comes with a metal box and face plate http://www2.army.mod.uk/img/ukpep/cliff_british_electrical_socket.jpg just cut hole in bottom of wall place and secure the metal box then screw on face plate.

Speakers, baseboard, and electrical panel are all great ideas. I also like "fake piping" in mechanical rooms: you install what looks like another section of PVC piping, but it actually is removable. You can also cut into hollow-cored doors, but that's trickier. If you had larger things to store, and you had a small closet, you could make a fake ceiling that was 6" shorter or so.

The e-book that's floating around is the "How To Hide Anything" eBook, which has been around a fair while. It is actually very good.

Take an electrical blank cover and spring load it over a hole in the wall should work well, not sure how to mount the springs though,
used to have a bunk bed that had tubes coming down in the front off the top bunk with a plastic cap in the bottom, was part bitch to pry it off but fantastic for hiding money and other stuff in that. Jar in the toilet tank works, only clean water in there anyways. The possibilities are endless, just gotta think, you'd be surprised once you start looking

I have my tv rigged up so the back comes off, and there's a surprising amount of empty space in there...

Use one of those gray metal circuit breaker/wiring boxes. Obviously get an empty one. Put a "high voltage do not open" sticker on it. This provides a secure, large, easy to access, hidden-in-plane-sight hiding place. You can even put a small lock or ziptie on it without drawing much suspicion.
Bolt it to the wall in a location you might expect to find one (closet, basement, garage etc.). Put a conduit and some random wiring stuff coming out of it going into the wall. put some labels on it. It must look like its supposed to be there.
