I recently resurected an old hard drive I had lying around and it turns out it's from my first ever gaming computer.

It has a bunch of games and movies on it and what not, but mostly everything is zipped up in an RAR, and I don't have the passwords.

I'd like to get at them, as some of these games are large and I don't want to download them again.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

EDIT: I'm looking for something clean, I don't want a bruteforce

This may work if you opened the rar on that HDD.

There's a program that compares a secured-archive-file in a rar with a non secured-unpacked file and within 2 minutes the program is able to crack the password.

Google - rarbreak - to find it

I just learned this and it should help us all.

If you google the entire name of the rar file that you need to open, 9 times out of 10 you will be shown the site or sites that will have the password.

So let us know if this helps.
