like a light for a concert that can sense the intensity level of the music and become brighter and dimmer depending on the intensity?

and it would correspond to the music played

i know they can program light shows, but do they have just like... lamps or something that can do this?

it would be cool if it could sense your foot steps and when you set stuff down.

it would be trippy as fuck if you were on drugs

it would seem as if the whole room was responding to your every action

I had a rope light controller that had a microphone and flashed the rope lights to any sound input.

Of course, as a person who does rock concert lighting, i'd say get a lighting console and dimmers and some par cans and have a real light show

Replace the dildo+vibrator part with lights.

You need a lighting controller that has a light to sound function, also known as a bass step. It's pretty common on most boards. You'll need a patch bay to go along with that, then you plug the power of all your lights into the patch bay, patch that all to the controller, and engage the LTS.

For the board and patch bay, expect to pay close to $2k. Some boards do have a patch inbuilt, like the Jands 4 Pak.

Err, you'll need to program a chase or similar before you do anything with light -> sound.

I've heard of it being done with just spotlights and a PA amplifier. The microphone goes to the PA amp, which goes to cables to the spotlights. Not exactly the best way of doing it, but it's cheap -- the PA amp is probably $150, and the spotlights are cheap and readily available in your local hardware store.

I got this cool color lamp thing when I was a kid that responds to sound. It's this lamp thing that projects on a wall or ceiling and changes color and flashes and has different settings and shit, and you can set it to be sound responsive. It's pretty cool.

I gotta break that thing out when I'm really ridiculously blazed sometime.
