Hippies complain about all sorts of bullshit being "offensive", and yet I can't seem to find anyone complaining about the show Monk's portrayal of OCD. Simply put: OCD isn't funny or fun to have. It's like being constantly pecked apart by a flock of birds, to quote the most accurate analogy I've ever heard.
Now, I'm not suggesting that they cancel the show or any such nonsense. If anyone else said that, I'd tell them to shut the fuck up. But, I am going to say that the writers of that show are a bunch of cocksuckers, and they should strive to be more realistic.
That is all.

Eh...it doesn't suck. Hugh Laurie is pretty funny, and in general it's entertaining. The problem is that the majority of the episodes are practically identical. Mysterious illness-->Misdiagnosis-->House realizes what the actual problem is in the last 5 minutes. When they want to be really clever, they make you think House misdiagnosed the patient, when he was actually right all along.
But like I said, it's generally funny and entertaining, albeit repetitive.

To be fair, the episodes that stray from the normal plot (or at least appear to) are really entertaining, such as the one where he kidnaps the TV doctor, and the one with the hostage taker.

Yeah, definitely. Two episodes that I particularly remember are the one where Foreman is infected with some disease and infects that other doctor, and the one in the airplane. The rest just kind of blend together. It's kind of good though, because you can just tune in whenever, and there's only a couple episodes that are actually related to an overarching plotine.

Monk does suck. I think I might have seen one episode that was amusing, it was the one where he was trapped on the submarine. The only reason I watched it was because NCIS was coming on after is on USA
I like House, I don't love it. The plots are insanely formulaic and they use the "this treatment will either save him or kill him" device way too often which is not only boring, but unrealistic as hell. There are a lot of other medical mistakes, but I don't focus on them, I suspend my disbelief for that. I think the dialogue is what makes the show great. If the plot lines would be better, it would be my favorite show. I also associate with House a lot. We're both curious, intelligent, & smart asses who are addicted to narcotic pain medication due to chronic pain, so I really get the show when his vicoden addiction is brought up. But that's just me I guess.
