ive heard from various (some reputable on law, some not) friends and they have said that a simple lock can prevent the opening of a briefcase, trunk, bag, etc BECAUSE it would need a warrant, barring the idea of "reasonable doubt" (that word needs to be clairifed to some officers of the "law"). also, they have said that it relates to the 5th amendment (and/or "self-incrimination", "right to privacy")

my question, along with the other friends asking me to type this (since they only lurk), is "Is this statement true regarding lock VS non-locked cases?"
