In countries that use Metric Units, do the optics have adjustments in centimeters? If so does it read like something like this on the adjustment knobs:

2 cm. @ 100 m.

If not, how are they done?

Thanks in advance,

TLM.

It all depends on what scope you're using and is designed for.

But it's simple enough to just convert # inches to # centimeters.

Or did i get your question wrong?

I was asking if scopes used in Europe and other countries that use metric units primarily have adjustments in metric units.

Yes, you are spot on with conversions. I'm working on something and I'd rather avoid forcing the user to run conversions when I could just modify the equations with metric units instead of imperial.

Thanks for the reply though.

I would think moa would apply universially. i am not sure though.

Yeah you can buy scopes with 1/2 or 1/3 cm adjustments.

But if MOA works to both metric and imperial, then 1/4 MOA adjustments does not mean .25 inches @ 100 yards. In all practicality, it does (at reasonable ranges), but MOA does not equate to one inch at 100 yards, it equals 1.0471 inch at 100 yards.

I'd say 1/4 MOA adjustments should just about do it for anyone. Except maybe benchresters...

Yes, I know MOA is universal. Now, to confirm what you just said:

I can buy an optic that is commonly used in countries that use metric units that will make a 1/2 or 1/3 cm adjustment @ 100 m.

I'm wondering because I got a hold of a few generations of Unertl scopes for this project and some of the newer scopes (designed for rimfire competition) are clearly marked "1/5 cm. @ 100 m".

Anyways, It's probably a safe bet to just stick to imperial measurements and throw a conversion tool in there.

Thanks for the help FLTC. And how's the big hammer shooting? :D

Yeah, that's a good call.

Loud. A slight less precise than I like but then again, I can't find anything but machine gun rounds anyway.

I imagine the dies and components are hard to come by.

Okay, back to math :D.
