i have a misdemeanor charge of minor consumption of alcohol when i was 19.
i have been addicted to opiates/opioids and recieved treatment.

i have consumed, in disrespectfull high amounts, nearly every possible drug imagineable.

i am now clean and honestly drugs are nothing to me. i don't associate with anyone who uses any drug and i don't plan on ever using again.

if i am completely honest to my recruiter what are the chances i can join the army?

i found this page useful: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningthemilitary/a/substance.htm

Don't tell your recruiter shit.

And if you'll pass a drug test, then yes.

i'll pass the drug test.
i don't want to lie... if they check my medical records then that <lie is considered FRAUD and is terms for discharge when/if they find out.

I'm in the middle of the recruiting process so I can help you.

Yes, the recruiter will ask. You should be honest. You sign a form confirming you're being completely honest, then they drug test you. At least they did that to me. They do criminal background checks that uncover any charges and arrests. Tell your recruiter about them. If it's a lot or a felony you won't have a good chance unless it was a while ago. You might need to somehow prove you've changed. The army doesn't want someone they'll have to babysit and make sure they stay out of trouble. Getting caught with drugs in the army is instant general discharge, which means they wasted the money they spent on you.

Wait, I re-read your post, and if your only charge is that, then mention that and thats it. Don't mention your drug history. If it's not documented, it's not relevant. I received treatment for ADD until I was 14, which is a DQ, and Ive been seeing a psychologist my whole life which is also a DQ, but they can't uncover that stuff unless you tell them. Hospitals can't release that to anybody unless you say it's ok.

If you think you can do it, there's no harm in trying. You won't know unless you at least try.

Be honest with your recruiter.

You shouldn't have any problems getting in if the minor in consumption is the only offense on your record. The only time they might turn you down is for things like assault and battery or if you're a weirdo sex offender.

As far as the medical stuff...that's up to you. If it's not documented and you've never been arrested for doing or possessing drugs, I wouldn't worry about it. 9 times out of 10 you're recruiter won't worry about it either.

They often hate to fill out the extra paperwork. :p

OP, you little gayfuck, posting duplicate threads and shit.

Anyway, check out this story (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/02/14/national/main2474041.shtml). The Army is literally letting felons in by the hundreds, and misdemeanor-committers by the thousands.

And this was nearly two years ago. Imagine how desperate they are now.

My army recruited said that my MIP/MIC charge doesn't matter, because it was a court deferment.
Today I went into the local Navy recruitment office, started in by saying, I've already checked out the Army, Already taken the ASVAB, I'm an Eaglescout, I'm a blackbelt, what can you do for me?
The dumb bitch first of all pulled up the wrong name somehow, and it showed that I still have those charges on my record. They wanted transcripts from Highschool, and the college that I've attended. I was the only one giving information- they didn't tell me shit, nothing to give a clue on how they could help me.

So if you want to go into the Army, chances are alot better then if you'd want to go to the Navy. ;)

Yes Uncle Sam will take anybody and everybody nowadays. You may have to get waivered which could take a month to half year so start now if your really trying.
