I bought one of these fucking things....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Hydrashock/DSCN0989.jpg

And I like it.

A lot.

I went to Cabelas with the intention of buying another XD, until I saw this.

Now, there are two GLOCKs that I like.

One is the 19 and one is the 34.

Now I've never seen a 34 anywhere and all the other 19s I have seen have been Third Generation.

The finger groves just kill it for me.

But I saw this 19 and jumped on it, and I'm glad I did.

I only put 50 rounds through it today (35 WWB 115gr JHPs, 10 Speer RHTs, and 5 Golden Sabres) and it functioned fine and was extremely accurate and has a really awesome trigger.

My only issue with it is that there is a "dent" at the bottom of the magazine well and it came with shitty burn out Trijicon night sights.

The night sights wouldn't be much of an issue if the front sight actually stayed on.

I'm going to see if my gunsmith has the tool to tighten it some time this week, and I', pretty sure that'll hold me over until I buy some XS Big Dots for it.

Oh, and it cost me a CZ52, a Charles Daly Hi Power, and $100.

The price was a little high for a used GLOCK, but a GLOCK that works is better than a CD HP that doesn't and since it's 9x19 (and not 7.62x25) I can actually find ammo for it.

I also bought an Uncle Mike's Kydex holster and some Corbon 125grs (because they didn't have any Gold Dots).

The GLOCK 19 in general gets an A+ in my book.

This particular one gets an A- due to coming with shitty sights, but that's easily fixed.

Here it is next to my first and favorite.

Good buy mate! I am actually considering picking up a .45 Glock now after seeing this video.

Both SA and GL make great hand guns so I think I should mix it up a little and Glock has been around a little longer in the playing field for reliability. Not to hijack your thread but can anyone compare the XD45 to Glock 21? Lookin at full service 45. Need to mix up my collection since I already got a XD9 and most likely will purchase an XD40 down the road since I can also convert it to the .357 SIG and save money purchasing two diff. handguns.

Glock 21 vs XD45 which did you guys like more?

You should of got a XD-m.

Mate I saw the review for those fuckers in Guns and Ammo recently, and nearly cried as I can't get one (nothing over 9mm back in Australia). They look awesome and from what I have read on other XD's it sounds like a near perfected pistol.

But I digress.

Nice glock. I haven't shot a 19 (17 and 17A with a... uhh... "barell extension" threaded onto it) and they were a pleasure. Hope you enjoy it.

I actually kind of enjoy Glocks as well. A friend of mine has a really nice "customized" G19.

I don't think I'll ever buy an XDm, or an XD45 for that matter.

I'm not a fan of guns that I feel deviate too much from the original design.

Plus, the molded slot-thing that the pin that holds in the interchangable backstraps is known to crack extremely easily.

So much, infact, that the XDm in the XDm Owner's Manual has a crack in it.

EDIT:

And Lava, I'm not sure how extensive the test would be as I only have 20 rounds of 9x19 ball laying around and Cabelas had absolutely no WWB value packs.

But the 50 I put through it today were great, I find it is actually easier to shoot than the XD, but that may just be because it's a 9mm and not a .40.

I don't feel I should make any claims or comments about accuracy and grouping, as the idiot who owned it before me obviously had a problem with anticipating the shot, which would make the rounds dip low and left, hence he had the rear sight as far to the right as it could go. And my range trip was more to test function than anything, and I know 50 rounds is hardly anything at all, but it ate 115gr WWB JHPs, 95 or 100 gr (I forgot) sintered copper Speer RHTs, and 147gr Remington Golden Sabres without any issue.

I'm qurious(sp?) about the sights, take a pic of 'em:)

Really nice, atlought i'm a fan of the 3rd gen glocks but i simply love the 19 (and 17, 21), i demand more weaponporn!

I found a small allen wrench and loosened and aligned the rear sight.

And, Swede, I did try and get a picture of the sights but they just came out looking like 3 white dot sights.

They are actually orange rear/green front Triicon night sights and, I don't remember if I mentioned it before, but the rears are dead and the front has a faint glow.

I prefer Meprolights anyways.

And here's a quick pic....

Oh, so they are like standard Glock sights but with tritium? Then i get it. Tought it was one of those really stupid trijicon sights that's impossible to aim with.

:(. I have trijicons on my HP. They worked well enough for me.

They actually look just like this, except they are burnt out.

http://tinyurl.com/9rpura

And Lava, my issue with the sights is that they attach rather poorly, the rear sight has this plastic dovetail piece that slides in, then the actual rear sight assembly screws into that with tiny little allen screws.

But, mainly, it's the fact that the sights aren't XS Big Dots.

And, MLK, what's your point?

^If that's truly where he's coming from then he needs to shut the fuck up.

I just enjoy my privacy.

Maybe he should make a scan of his diver's license and post it here.

You know, to show he's not trying to hide something.

Can't fool me. I know that was one of the hijackers who helped fly the planes into the twin towers.

Posting someone else's name and photo is a 5-point infraction. I'll leave that up to R_L. :D

My G21 is a beater. The stock sights are beat to hell and rounded off, there's a nick in the trigger guard, and the corners are decidedly non-black.

Still shoots straight as hell, every time.

they work well every time.

Glock front sights dont like to stay put. The stock plastic ones fall out, and the Trijicon hex screw(front sight) will continue to loosen itself from shooting. Loc tite is a good thing there.

My Trijicon rear didnt have a plastic dovetail or srews, the base is metal and is held in by friction. I havent had any problems yet(about 2k rounds) Maybe yours is a defferent model or generation.

Now you need a 3.5 lb connector, polish your internals and get a Lone Wolf barrel and you are all set! I wouldnt call a Glock "perfection" but they are already super reliable, and with a few mods they can run with all but the absolute best 1911s in the accuracy department.

Dont mess with the springs, or try to replace the guide rod with a metal one and you'll be fine.

In 9mm, accuracy-wise, it is hard to beat a Luger, reliability-wise, it is hard to beat a Hi-Power.
The 1911 Colt .45 is an excellent compromise, but I don't personally like the recoil. However, the design is really hard to beat.

Honestly, only 80 year's service will tell if the Glocks are really up to this standard.

Nice. In my opinion, the G19 is the best all-around pistol in existence at the moment.

I had a G17 for a while, sold it because I found a great deal on a new 9mm single action FN Hi-Power ($400 NIB!). Figured there was no point in having 2 9mm high caps. I love the Hi-Power, but now I want to pick up another GLOCK to beef up the collection before AWB 2. Decided to go with a G19 this time.

They're kind of hard to find at the moment though, lots of places are sold out and whenever a used one comes up for sale on THR, TFL, AR15.com, etc., it gets snapped up almost instantly.

Yea, now that I've done some research it seems my rear sight is some kind of older PT Night Sight.

I modified a 3/16" socket head to tighten my front sight screw (added Loctite as well).

But I don't really intended to add anything to this GLOCK besides XS Big Dots.
