View Full Version : Security @ CVS

A few times I have walked out of CVS with stuff I paid for, and the alarms go off.. they tell me to keep going and that it's because of my cell phone. Apparently a lot of cell phones do this, so whenever the alarm goes off, I simply raise my cell phone and walk out.

So two questions:

Are all CVS stores like this?

I go in there with a bookbag all the time because I ride my bike, and put my shit in it after I pay. If I were to put other shit in my bag and then put the paid stuff in it afterwards, not letting them see the stolen items.. nothing should go wrong. But I'm wondering what the cameras at CVS are like/if anyone monitors them/what..

Thanks.

Generally no, but if a manager is in then he could be looking at the cameras, and beware the mirrors on the wall, they can see through those most of the time....and obviously if you look sketchy, yea.

Just get in/out fast, security isn't too crazy, so don't worry too much but always be alert. Just a few days ago I walked out with two 12 packs of beer, nobody said anything.

You should be fine although if they catch any whiff of suspicion expect a rough day.

I had a friend who used to go into CVS and steal that shitty ass "vodka" called Kamchatka or something like that. He was an underage alcoholic and had no other means of getting his booze so he stole it from CVS every other day, sometimes every day for a good 6 months before he got caught. He put like 3 bottles in his crotch somehow and went into the bathroom to do it, then when he walked out the manager stopped him and only took 1 bottle and let him go lol. CVS has shitty security. Period.

I don't know if there is really an age requirement.

I bought a bottle when I was 15. Employees would have to be really fucking stupid to actually buy the cellphone story. The alarm would ring on your way in if it was your phone. It's probably more like they can't be fucked to do anything about it.

Every cvs/rite-aid/Walgreens here in NYC has one employed "theft protections" specialist.

They dress in plain clothes, watch and rewind cameras, and peak at you from behind the racks...
Best way to NOT attract attention is to make it quick.... shoppers who take a long time attract the most attention.

i would probably take one or two small things, every few weeks or so. they never really caught on.
