What electro band do you enjoy/think other's should know about?

I'll start with simple ones

1. Infected Mushroom
2. Justice
3. IAMX
4. Mindless Self Indulgence (yes)
5. Ida Coor vs Fedde Le Grand (song is called "Let me think about you") <--badASS
6. The Faint
7. Daft Punk
8. Crystal Castles (saw them live, it kicked ass)

I guess some ofthese are kinda New Wave (like The Faint) but you get hte picture. I'm trying to get more electro music in my possession so i'm looking for suggestions

You've got some good stuff in that list of yours!
Your taste in music sounds very similar to my own, at least in terms of Electronic(ish) artists. :)

For you, I'd recommend checking out: Alan Braxe, Artist of the Year, Death From Above 1979, Ladytron, MSTRKRFT, Pendulum, Simian Mobile Disco, Sneaker Pimps, Soulwax, UNKLE, Vitalic, and We Are Terrorists.

Check each of those out and I'm sure you'll find something worth listening to. :P

Scooter isn't electro, they were techno - now they're more of a puss version of hardstyle.

Anyway, I think Soulwax is probably the best Electro artist.
Have a listen to their remix of MGMT - Kids (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jb1jBn0uEOc).

Other artists I recommend;
- LCD Soundsystem.
- Utah Saints.
- Hot Chip.
- Vandalism.

Scooter is not electro or techno ffs, they used to produce happy hardcore, then commercial dance and have now started taking influence from the already shitty watered down genre of hardstyle to make the shittiest music known to man, examplified by their fucking crap album Jumping All Over The World. Crystal Castles are pretty difficult to classify, but Nintendocore mixed with mainstream House and Breaks summarises them fine. Pendulum are definitely not electro they are shitty poppy DnB but they are awesome live.

As you can tell i fucking hate it when people missclassify electronic music, usually caling it techno like retards.

I don't know, the electronic genre has so many vaguely-defined subgenres, I can understand how confusion arises.
I recommended artists which I thought the OP would enjoy, based on the ones listed, not the genre "electro".
Put less emphasis on the genre, and more on whether or not it's good music.

Oh, and I would also like to share the previous sentiments regarding Scooter.
Fuck them, and fuck shitty, shitty techno music.

hooooly shit you saw crystal castles live.....gtfo of here

They're one of my favorite bands.

I listen to a decent amount of electronic stuff, people have had good suggestions so far.

Definitely Death from above 1979, Hot Chip, MSTRKRFT, Simian Mobile Disco, The Chemical Brothers, Dan Deacon, Diplo, you might even like some noise/electronic music, so try out HEALTH, Matthew Dear is sort of minimal electronic (think more chill music) Massive Attack (don't know if it qualifies, but don't know if LCD sounsystem qualifies either ^^^), Midnight Juggernauts, RJD2, Shitdisco....

Thanks for the suggestions. Nah, I'm not a fan of noise at all.

Btw, I have seen HEALTH live, as well :)

They opened for NIN in early November.

I got to see Nine Inch Nails in December; what a show! :D
Unfortunately, instead of Crystal Castles or HEALTH as an opening act, we got "The Bug". LAME!

I've seen NIN twice. It was way back (4 years) when i was in high school though. Too bad crystal castles or HEALTH weren't as big, or maybe even around, back then. Instead i got Queens of the stone age, aaand.....uuuh.....oh- Autolux. They're actually pretty good too.

Crystal Castles are pro. I had tickets an everything but they got in a car crash the day before the show and Alice broke a couple ribs.

Still got to see HEALTH and a DJ set by Ethan so it wasn't a total loss.

Anyways, off the top of my head some artists in a similar vein worth checking out and haven't been mentioned yet: SebastiAn, The Toxic Avenger, Hearts Revolution, Pogo, Partyshank, Feadz, DJ Mehdi, So-me, Busy P, Glass Candy, Lies In Disguise...

Uffie. ;)
