An author has writers' block, gets her husband to go with her to South America to try Ayahuasca (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayahuasca), a hallucinogen known to cause mass psychosis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folie_%C3%A0_deux#Related_phenomena). She experiences what she feels as death, then goes on to finish her book.

I think I went through an experience of death at a certain point, when I was no longer a body or a soul or a spirit or anything. There was just a total, absolute void that you cannot even describe because you are not. And I think that's death.
