For:
x Skin cancer will plumit.
x Green house gases will decrement. Think, while we sleep in the day all of the energy we use for the night will be gather by solar panels.
x The planet is warming up. Eventually humans will all become nocturnal to avoid the heat of the day. I'd say that it's pretty hot at the moment. Become nocturnal - avoid the heat.
x There will be less chance of being robbed because everyone will be awake at night and if a robber is smart he will use the shadows.
x The sky will be more interesting.
x Sun glasses will become a redundent fashion statement (although they may make "moon glasses").
x Sun screen will become redundent as well. I have read that you can still be burnt at night though... so once again they may have to make "moon screen" (fuck that sounds cool).
x People would feel safer walking the streets at night.
Against:
x One could equally argue that because all of our activities take place at night that we would actually use MORE energy and thus generate MORE green house gasses.
x The sky being more interesting is subjective and questionable.
x There might be more car accidents.
x A lot of activities that would have been simple in the day would now become complicated. For example if you wanted to go surfing then the entire beach would have to be illuminated. I guess solar panels will have to become more wide spread to better take advantage of the day.
x It's questionable whether humans can adapt well to a nocturnal life style. I'm sure there is a vast array of research on this question though.
Pick a side and post, I am for, though I cannot force Australians to miraculously become nocturnal and start a revolution so I will have to buy some ear muffs. I'm glad I don't have a job. Perhaps I can find a way to setup my entire life around a nocturnal schedual. I am quite sure this is the right move for the modern man and woman.
