what would you guys reccomend besides this?

Ibanez RG series are pretty good from what I've heard.
Personally, I'd say that if you're going for a B.C. Rich, at least get an NT series one.

Don't get a Bronze series, as they're not real good qualty, hell the headstock doesn't have the badass shape as the other warlocks.

Get an ESP

They're almost always ready to play right out of the box.

I had a Bronze mockingbird way back when. Thing was great for shredding on account of the easy to play, unfinished neck and 24 frets. Intonation was pretty decent, but back then I hardly would've noticed if it wasn't.

The electronics also completely fell apart and died two years later. Every ground came loose, a bunch of random connections broke off, the output jack hemorrhaged parts all the time, and the tone and volume pots all wiggle when you try to turn them. I suppose can fix it, I just have to literally redo every connection and put in all new wires. That's too much soldering for my taste.

They're pretty nice for cheap guitars, very playable, just don't expect too much in the way of longevity.

I say go for it. If you're only just getting into electrics, might aswell start somewhere.

My first was a Yamaha (still have it to this day) and it did the job. Lower end guitars are somewhere to start because if you find yourself not liking them, at least you haven't gone out and spent hundreds on something you'll not use again.

I wouldn't recommend any BC rich as a starter guitar. I only say "as a starter guitar" because the only BC rich I would ever recommend is a nice high end neck-thru mockingbird or something.

Go with the ibanez rg, or the esp/ltd equivalent. I'd go without the tremolo, because most of them don't have the locking nut, and that thing will go out of tune every 30 minutes, if your lucky. At least make sure to adjust the springs so the trem is locked down.

But, the best thing to do, is just go into a music store and check out some guitars in your price range.
