A couple of days ago my brother kept getting this error

Now he's not getting that error, but I am.

We have the same computer and everything. I'm gonna guess it's something with the network.

I've already tried getting on while he's off, while he's unplugged. Restarting, Google kept bringing up 8000 forums with no answer.

I'm gonna contact valve tonight too. Have any of you experienced this error too and fixed it? I miss TF2.

Check your firewalls.

Make sure your antivirus program is allowing Steam to access the internet.

Peer Guardian always blocked Steam on my computer. If you have that running,turn it off.

no firewall.. but there might be one on the router, I haven't checked. And all antivirus is off.

I don't see why, I lose my ability to connect, and then my brother can connect, and I get his error.

could he run it previously. and if he could has he done anything new since then? (hardware, new programs, updated antivirus, etc)

No, he kept getting the error I posted, while I could play. Then about 3 days ago, he could play and I get the error now. He said he had not changed anything and It just started working.

This is why I like non steam gaming...such as non-steam counter strike.
But really, I secretly wish I had the real CS.
