Not really, the only thing I can think of is my brand of cigarette (Royals) but I don't buy them myself and when I did I smoked Mayfair exclusively.

I guess Microsoft, also, but that's because I've not really tried OS's other than Windows yet.

Well, I never buy "Home Brand" or "Signature Range" products. They're like my store's "own brands", cheap and nasty food.

But I usually stick to the main stuff, i.e. Coke, not Pepsi, Wattie's Spaghetti, not some other shit brand, etc.

cronic5
2009-01-01, 12:38
Pepsi.

I also buy name brand shoes, like Van's, or Fallen, or any other big comfortable type shoe. Never offbrand or "generic".

I'm not a slave to Brands.

You aren't the only idiot in this thread but whatever, liking a brand doesn't make you "one of the ignorant masses". I generally don't like consumerisim but not every single company out there is trying to screw everyone over by making shitty products and selling them for much more than they are worth.

I don't remember the wording exactly but I once heard a quote from the guy that founded Honda somthing like "a good product doesn't need advertisment, it should be able to sell itself." And it's true, I will buy honda equipment for most things if I am given the choice between them and another brand because they make good products.

I still have a little Honda postal bike from the 80's that has never broken down once excluding running out of fuel on a trip etc. So I continue to buy from this brand because I like what they make, they are reliable and effecient. I buy Mizuno shoes because I like the fabric they use on them, it is reasonably tough and very breathable, also they are wide, I have a wide foot and have trouble getting shoes sometimes.

If nothings wrong with it, don't try and fix it. I stick with what I know work for me.

Whats the fuck does me being an idiot have to do with anything.

When I think about brands, I usaully thnk of clothign brands and shit like that.

I had a mate (well not really a mate, some dick I worked with) who said "I only wear billabong and globe". He is a faggot.

If yo're buying a brand for looks and for status, then you're a faggot. But buying brands for reliabilty, such as Honda, is a good thing.

*looks around room*

I use to have a thing for Sony. Not sure what happened.

The two mouses (http://alt-usage-english.org/excerpts/fxmouses.html) I have sitting in front of me are Logitech and A4, the Two monitors are Viewsonic and Compaq, my laptop is HP, my tv is Samsung, my DVD player is Phillips and my stereo is Sony. Oh and I have an ipod, plus an old mp3 player which was made by Sansa.

I really never realised that I have so many different brands.

Logitech
A4
Viewsonic
Compaq (Admittedly HP)
Samsung
Phillips
Sony
Apple
Sansa

PS3 and PSP are both sony I guess though, but that has got to be they only double up. Two flash drives are different brands, my external hardrive is different again.

I guess that is expected with a vars range of things but I'm pretty sure if I wanted, I could get almost all of that in one brand.

So I would have to say no, I am not brand loyal. It's not really something that comes on purpose though. Things are bought at different times and I generally just select what I want from the different range of brands.
