Hello guys. I recently hooked my JVC cd stereo system into my computer via a y-adaptor (RCA cable to baby pin) and it works. My computer plays through the system whenever the system is in auxilliary mode.. Both RCA cables are attached to the stereo system's input.

However, I noticed that there are also RCA outputs. I hooked an Altec Lansing subwoofer system into it via another y-adaptor (RCA to baby pin) but it works only on the radio and cd modes. For radio and cd modes, all of the speakers, including the JVC stereo, the Altec Lansing sub and the Altec Lansing satellites work. However, Whenever I put the JVC system into auxilliary mode, the Altec Lansing stops working, leaving only the JVC speakers to play computer music.

I tired hooking a baby pin from the Altec Lansing into the JVC's headphone port but then the JVC's speakers stop working while the Altec Lansings play.

Is it possible to have all of the speakers play at the same time?

Look on the front panel for a button marked Speaker(s)?

I'm a bit confused...

Whereabouts have you plugged the Altecs into? Is there extra surround outputs on the JVC unit?

Could you draw a rough diagram in Paint?

The JVC sound system has four modes. Auxillary mode, cd mode, tape mode and radio mode. The cd player and tape players are broken. When I use the radio mode, both the JVC speakers and the Altec Lansing speakers work in sync. In Auxillary mode, only the JVC speakers work.

Does it have a tape monitor function?

Best to read the manual
