View Full Version : Fucking recrutier wont leave me alone
Ok so im in a sticky situation. A recruiter promised me all this shit if I signed up. So I go to meps and find out I have to ship in two weeks even though I wanted to be in the dep and my mos is electrician when I wanted a combat mos. So I guess my recruiter thinks im a retard or somthing like I dont realize that I can drop the dep. So he has been blowing my phone up and I tried to tell him I changed my mind. He would leave messages like blah blah blah we are going to bill you for the plane tickets, you signed a contract you have to go blah blah blah. So I figured fine I just wont answer my phone, wait for the dep discharge then get waivered back in with a different recruiter. All is well tell he starts calling up my fucking family members. Brain washing them of course making them think im a failure if I dont go with him. So they say they are coming to my town to pick me up sunday for the second swear in and ship. I need ideas on how to get them to leave me alone.

French Foreign Legion.
You should really consider this, if you want combat.
Anyways, maybe you should contact another recruiter, if you're having problems with the one you're dealing with now.

In all these threats has your recruiter produced one piece of paperwork?
Ok whats french foreign legion? And no he hasnt produced any paperwork, but he lives three states away from me. I did talk to a respectable recruiter in my town that told me its up to me I can tell him to fuck off or drop the dep and hope to get waivered back in. He did call today and offer an engineer job though. Just never thought it would be difficult to get a combat job when you actually WANT to risk your life for this country. Then he started giving me this well you swore and gave your word to me and a leutenant your word. Dont know, just going through alot right now trying to let this sink in. Basically from what I was told engineering deals with ied's, construction, ect. Sounds good to me I guess.

Yeah the honest recuriter I mentioned above basically said he cant do a whole lot. He said I would have to wait for the dep discharge which can take a while since they arent in a hurry to process your paperwork anymore. Kind of funny today though when the other guy started choking on his words. At least I found out I can be combat engineer.

Sounds like a lot of cage rattling to cover up the fact that you're making him do more work somehow. Push it aside and keep your eyes on the prize. Keep in mind that it's your life for the next 4-6, not his, and get what you feel damn-comfortable about.
keep yourself informed, also. This guy is possibly playing you on some policy thinking you don't know the difference. I learned this little jewel when I found out my liason was responsible for steering me towards Air Traffic Control. Suffice to say, his actions ended his career and sent me into a career I feel better with.

Did you actually sign the contract at meps or not? Because if you did sign the contract and then later realized you signed up for the wrong thing then thats your dumb ass fault. If you didn't sign anything then yea just listen to everyone else because it is your life and don't sign shit that you don't agree with.
As far as the combat thing, its probably due to a lot of people signing up for that same shit. In Arizona National Guard its impossible to get infantry anymore because all the slots are filled and we are over strengthed by a lot. If you want a combat MOS, then get your combat MOS don't settle for things you don't want.

Go to MEPS.
Tell them up front that you want to join. But that you want to go to a combat MOS.
Tell them that you got screw by your recruiter and want to renegotiate your contract.
And be very firm that if you don't get a combat MOS, you will refuse to be sworn in.
You are not in the military until you are sworn in and they can't to anything.
Stick to your guns and you will get what you want.

Recruiters hate to waste good toe-tags, chances are he made one for you personally.
Well I guess im going despite my recuiter not giving a shit about my ability to pass recruit training. Cant even do a pull up with my hands wide apart...
