Hello- I have a Gateway, M Series laptop using Windows Vista. Out of nowhere my keyboard stopped working while I was using it. I hadn't made any software or hardware changes recently. But now every time I try to boot up, it asks me to choose an operating system and makes a loud beeping noise. I can't choose my OS since the keyboard won't work. If it were just a problem with the keyboard, why is it asking me to choose my OS?

I am fairly inexperienced with laptops. I tried disconnected and reconnected the keyboard and I also tried removing the memory module and putting it back in to make sure it was secured properly. Any help is appreciated!

Disconnect the power cord and remove the battery. Then remove the memory. After a few minutes replace the memory - battery and power cord and try to boot.
