What is your favorite whiskey...
Discuss Taste, smell, smoothness, alcohol content, or anything that makes it your fav.....
My personal favorite is Jameson, put that in a glass with 2-3 ice cubes and you cant find a finer way to enjoy a whiskey

Well I'm a big fan of bourbon, and as far as that goes, my favorites are Knob Creek and Elijah Craig 18 y.o. Single Barrel (which is a bit pricier). The Elijah Craig 12 y.o. SB, however, can be had for usually right around $20 a fifth and IMHO stands up well next to many $30-$40+ top-shelf bourbons.
As far as the ice cubes go...I enjoy my whiskey no other way. Highball glass, 2-3 cubes, and the occasional few drops of mineral water are all you need.

I have been fond of Evan Williams lately. I can drink the stuff like water.
Also Ezra Brooks is good and strong and cheap.
I basically prefer budget bourbon.
Scotch is gross, and the Canadians come out with some allright shit. Campbell and Cooper for instance. Also Golden Wedding (schenleys?) is another.
Pendleton is some really good canadian stuff.
McGillicuddys Fireball is good if you like cnnamon. Its a 70 proof cinnamon flavored corn whiskey. It tastes like candy and goes down smooth. Every thing I listed goes down like water for me actually.
Irish whisky is where its really at if you have the cash. Like Bushmills.
And I drink it all straight and room temp. Usually from a bottle.

Makers Mark is some good stuff if you have a little extra $ to spend, IMO its well worth it
And POC, how would you compare Knob Creek? Last few times I was at the liqour store it caught my eye (I like the label, guilty), but only had enough for a small bottle of Captain on account of a recent trip to the pharmacy :(

I drank a bottle of the american honey bourban made by whatever that company is called. Something about america and an eagle or something?
Edit: Wild turkey is the name i think.

For the price, Seagram's Seven Crown. Very tasty on the rocks or with some 7-Up (actually what I'm drinking this moment).
Otherwise, previously mentioned Elijah Craig (12 or 18 year, both are awesome) is great if you want to spend a little more.

Irish Whiskey is the only one I actually enjoy the taste of; and I actually prefere it strait instead of mixed, except of course with coffee.

i was raised mostly in mexico so yeah Buchanans. Don't know why us Mexicans like it so much. The 18 year old is the shit but the 12 is pretty good too. Tastes awesome with sprite, water, or topochico.
Infact, I like it so much i got the seal glued to my cellphone.

Jameson.
Scotch. Glenmorangie or johny walkers blue label. Sorry but the scotish seem to know wtf they are doing when they make whisky. I dont mind jack daniels though. Like my sour mash whiskies when it comes to american made stuff. No offense to anyone but I cant stand canadian whisky, just seems like pure shit to me. Yeah ask any alcoholic that has money whats good to drink. They will know lol.

Ha, no shit man. Can get a liter of that shit for 10 bucks round here. Pretty similair to jack in my opinion.

Johnny Walker Blue Label if I have the cash spare but that's drunk sparingly. As far as enjoying whiskey on a regular basis their Green Label with a dash of soda water is a mighty choice. The Black Label is an all round choice if you don't have a well worn palate.
Laphroaig is a full flavoured adventure if you're up to it. Very complex but matches well with a spicy cigar.
Generally it's worth splashing out on a bottle of scotch.

I recently started drinking Jim Beam Rye. I was suprised it goes down smooth and doesn't really have an afterbite. I also like Woodbourne (sp) Reserve Bourbon. It is expensive but it tastes way better then Jim Beam Bourbon.
Crown Reserve, hands down my favorite. I love Crown Royal, but the reserve is much smoother, and not that bad of a price.

Nothing complements the occasional freezing city day quite like a flask of some good Rye. It soothes the rough edges of my reality, and quells my soul.
