anyway those get taken away we get in a big fight that i can't have a gun in thier house. we go to store that sold me the rifle they tell her im in my rights to own one she (mom aka cunt) can't stop me, they also say that there is a legal barrel lengths and as long as i don't get caught using a small barrel i should be fine. She threatens to go to popo over the illegal barrel lengths, i take her up on that offer.

the popo tells her i'm in my rights to own a gun but here is the catch 22. although i can own a gun, i live in their house and they don't want guns in the house so she can confiscate it until i move out because thier house thier rules. and the popo didn't know about the illegal barrel size. so she took it away along with ammo and clips and the gun lock

a couple months down (maybe 6), they aka parents have a domestic violence fight, police called, documented, no charges pressed because they both work to pay for house and bills.

a couple days back another domestic violence fight occurs, police weren't called, not documented.

my idea: go to police and reason that they confiscated my gun and not a year passed they had two violent arguements (the people who are supposed to be more responsible adults than i am) and me being scared for my life because they have my gun with clips ammo and an illegal barel, which is probably poorly secured and their arguements could turn deadly, so i should get my gun back back so i can secure it and move it out of the house to a trusted friend.

possible problems: me getting arrested for an illegal barrel lenghts that i could not fix because they confiscated my gun and wont let me have it back

should i go through with it or will i just screw myself over?

ps i have a clean record, go to college, and volunteer at the library hopefully that will give me merit....

nvm that. i need to find it first then i don't need to bother rebuilding i just need it out of the house thats it problem is i have no idea where to start looking...and thinking of getting a metal detector to speed things up. ps its a ruger 10/22 awesome rifles

If you are concerned about the barrel length just put a new barrel on it and then do whatever you want.

For example putting a target barrel on a 10/22 is perfectly normal and they can be had pretty cheap: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/24652-1.html
