It was pretty entertaining, especially considering the track-record with those WWE movies. My only complaints were:
1) They made you feel so much sympathy for the man and wife convicts, downplaying that they apparently went on a murder-spree. It's funny how easy it is to manipulate an audience. If they made a movie about Hitler in love people would start thinking he's a sweet, lovable guy.
2) I hated the bitch who was shocked that the hot women on an island full of murderers and rapists were getting raped (or nearly raped). I mean, if you're going to sign up for something like that, you'd think some basic foresight would be involved.
3) Steve Austin's character was a bit over-the-top with the badassery. Like, he's so tough that he doesn't want the keys to his cuffs before he's thrown into a deathmatch? Come on.
The pros:
1) The two hot chicks
2) I thought this movie would just have the typical, subtle "You're just as sick as the killers, lolol" message, but to my pleasant surprise, they actually had Vinnie Jones shoot up all of the technicians at the end. That was fucking awesome.
3) The explosions were pretty impressive. I mean, it sounds kind of asinine, but they really did a good job. The final explosion involving a helicopter was particularly well shot.
All in all, definitely not a bad use of 100 minutes, and it could even pass for something other than a mindless action flick (well, a little).
