Can someone tell me about sleeping pills? What's a good one that doesn't have recreational value, and isn't going to fuck your mind. I've heard things like Rohypnol can make you wake up in the middle of the night and go on killing sprees.
Just smoke a spliff, it's so much better than any sleeping pill you'll be able to buy.
I've only used melatonin, but I think it's more of a sleep regulator. When exposed to sunlight, our bodies produce melatonin, but at night when there is no more sunlight our bodies start to release the melatonin which makes us drowsy. You can buy 5mg pills at CVS, like $6 for 60.
If you want something that will straight up knock you out instead, I'd imagine any OTC sleeping pill would work pretty well. Just take the recommended dosage.
There are also prescription sleeping pills that claim to be non-habit forming, but that's a lot of trouble to go through and a good deal more expensive as well.

well ima tell you now fuck OTC its all just benedryl, sucks if your really insomnic. Shit dont work! Seroquil or trazadone maybe Rx but will knock out a cow. Except the fact if your heroin addict for some reason seroquil stops working 300mg and shit barely hits just lets me fall a sleep when im ready i used to have to be carried out of the TV room from 200mg seroquill n catapress.

Smoke Weed, Tryptophan, Valerian Root Extract, Melatonin, Exercise, Sex. ;)
Alternatively, you can fuck your body and mind up with some Ambien or something instead.

Beat me to it. I have never been a good sleeper. Most pills will either knock you out and make waking up a bitch. Or simply not work at all. Try to get some balance in your life. Like some said. Run a little in the afternoon, take a shower, do your homework or try reading a little bit this will usually make you sleep. Try to find some balance. It's all about balance. Some people watch a little TV at night to get sleepy. A friend of mine uses comedy central as a way to sleep. His body gets used to getting sleepy around the time a certain show is over. Try somethings out. Don't go straight for pills.

when exposed to sunlight the body produces serotonin. when it gets dark that is when melatonin is produced.

You asses, he said he wanted something nonrecreational.
And fuck antipsychotics.
Try remeron. Its an antidepressant, but it makes you so tired you wouldnt believe it. No addiction, no recreation, no tolerance. Unforunately, it gives me horrible RLS, which can only be counteracted by...you guessed it, benzodiazepines, the sleeping pills I was trying to avoid.
OTC shit does nothing or worse for people with real insomnia. Although these herbal supplements I have with kava kava, seratonin/melatonin precursors, and other assorted herbs do increase my quality of sleep if I take something to knock me out initially.
Personally, only benzos really truly work for me. And even worse, I'm physically incapable of making a single script last the full month, so I'm just always screwed.

I find that low doses of Doxylamine succinate or Diphenhydramine (somewhere around 12.5mg or half a pill) combined with an equal low dose of melatonin (1mg) plus some high grade bud will help me sleep.
It usually takes about an hour to kick in where I feel sleepy enough to where I want to lie down.
Anything more and I feel droggy the next day.
Peace.

ja. I got prescribed remeron for my depression. Mirtazapine seems to be getting very popular. I quit taking it. Yeah it makes you fuckign tired and gives you terrible munchies. I gained weight like crazy while I was on it.

Well trazadone is not recreational and it works to knock you out, but you'll regret it in the morning. Terrible if your trying to get a good nights sleep. Gives the worst dry mouth, a raging migraine and doesn't keep me asleep so I'm usually spending half the night trying to go back to sleep.
Ambien is recreational but the effects are not pleasureable enough to really want to abuse it. Plus you can get a free week trial to test it out. I used to get some great sleep from ambien but I abused it a bunch and now it doesn't really do shit at the dose I'm prescribed. Oh this also doesn't keep me asleep, I usually wake up 4 or 5 times in the night.
Weeds how I go to sleep most nights though and its the best way I think.

The priapism side effect kind of turned me away from trazdone.

I'm on 250mg of Trazadone and it works pretty good. However i am going to a doctor soon to see if he will put me back on Ambien because that worked a lot better. It depends what kind of problems you have though, like i have anxiety so Ambien works great for me.

diphenhydramine is a pretty common sleep aid. I guess its made me feel a little sleepy, but then again im ususally nodding like fuck.
That should be pretty safe. just dont mix with booze. Or benzos.
CaspeR
600mg of diphehydramine.
good night!

try trazadone or seroquel. they gave us either in rehab to help us sleep. neither are recreational (otherwise they wouldn't have given it to junkies) and both knock you the fuck out.

I can get Seroquel. I hate it. It is the antihistamine which induces the drowsy effects, so I hear, and the anti psychotic action is a slut, the binding to dopamine and serotonin fucks me around, stops me thinking fast.

quetiapine is not a antihistamine and it doesnt have any anticholinergic effects that i know of.

Antihistamine is used as a filler in seroquel.
Antihistamine is used as a filler in seroquel.
There's no "fillers", but seroquel does have antihistaminic effects.

No, they have antihistamine in them.
Easily wrong, but that's what I was told.

seems it has antihistamine effects at low doses.
goldn green your only real choice for otc sleping pills is going to be antihitamines. you could try sleep remedies.
passion flower or red poppy flowers have both worked for me. Melatonin is another choice.

Melatonin gently rocks you to sleep and its easy to wake up the next morning.
But its not very powerful.
Diphenhydramine (unisom / benadryl) is good, knocks you out.
I only take it if I have a good 12hrs to sleep.
