Seriously though, as an American with a brain, I can say that most (80-90%) American humor sucks ass.

In this country, we have adults going to Jim Carrey (The guy who makes funny noises and faces for humor) movies and laughing their balls off at it.

On another note, instant-humor doesn't have to be completely retarded. Humor can be instant and clever at the same time.

Building up to the lulz is just another option.

I think British/Canadian/Australian/<insert former colony here> comedians etc. are much funnier, the bigger pay off takes a better vocabulary and being able to follow stories though. It's also about the sort of stories they tell. This kind of humour is often called larykanisim and I prefer it over one shitty joke after another. Only british comic I have seen so far that I didn't like as much as some is Jimmy Carr (sp?) and even still he is better than a lot of people.

They also cover a wider range of events, they joke about stupid shit like the way some races talk but they also can get in to politics in a much deeper way in my opinion because they tend to know about more than just their own government.

I'm sure you will find many a political refer in "the chasers war on everything", not so much in "family guy".

You know the office? The UK version is sheer brilliance. The US version is soooo fucking retarded. It is like its targeted at a brain-dead audience. Or the sketch show, one of the funest shows....
