I just got a dual channel kit because i needed to have more than 1 GB of ram, but when I install both cards the computer will not start.

Each one works individually, but they do not work together, why?

System: DDR3 1600 OCZ memory (2 gb x 2), Asus P5E3 Deluxe mobo, Windows Vista, Intel Core 2 Extreme proc.

anythign i forgot that would help let me know.

Make sure the memory sticks are installed in the same colored slots. They have to be in pairs in the same colored slots.

Check your vDIMM. Your memory may require more voltage than what you're board is currently set to give it in the BIOS. Look on the label on one of the RAM sticks to find out the correct voltage. If that doesn't work, try playing musical DIMM slots. Put a stick into each slot on the board, just in case you have a bad slot on the board.

Both the posts above me sound correct, you might have to either up the voltage or down clock the ram.

It was the voltage, it was way too low.

Thanks guys.
