Too many features you haven't mentioned in the weapon you are considering purchasing. But if it shoots straight and has a detachable carry handle w/ rail system go for it. The rest you can modify yourself.

Even for a bargain basement rifle (off brand / no thrills) six hundred for a complete rifle is not a bad deal.

I got my 14.5'' barreled bushmaster with 6 pos stock for $800 brand new.

Car15 has:
- 5 position more compact stock
-round shaped slimmer handguard
-no barrel cut for the m203
-most come with m4 feed ramps

m4 has:
-little bit larger 6 position stock
-more oval shaped handguard
-barrel cut for m203
-of course m4 feed ramps.
The two are very similar . The car15 is like the father of the m4 from a historic

that is a decent price but yopu really need to tell us the details.
Is it a stainless barrel? who is it made by? A build by someone?
forged or cast receiver? Flat top or A2?

That's a good price, period. There's nothing wrong with a simple carbine. Look for the flat top A3-style and feedramp cuts.

In many parts of the country, complete lowers are going for $350-450, due to Obongo panic buying. WASR-10 package deals are going for $500 in some places.

Question:
Would I be able to install a normal CAR15 or M4 upper into my M16A1 lower, with the M16 bolt and carrier, and still get it to work select- fire?
Thanks,
Lava

i am not sure if there is anydifferences in the upper receiver. All of the companies sell m16 uppers and I think they come with a select fire bolt carrier group but I think that is more of a legal thing here. because you can't use a m16 psrt on a ar15. i think it might work but i am not positive.

You are also quite the liar.

You can get a 14.5" barrel AR clone with a 1.5" permanently attached muzzle device and not have to register it as an SBR.
