Ok here is my situation. For some reason when I try to play games I get this 5 second laggyness bullshit, where as a few times a minute the game will momentarily freeze. I have aboslutely no idea what the fuck is causing this. (Specs below)

I recently got an upgrade and as far as I know all parts of the computer are working fine and have the latest graphics. What is weird is that this laggyness happens regardless of graphics settings, even on low settings I still get this laggyness.

There could be the problem that I have a widescreen (23 inches) however this can play video perfectly fine and has the latest drivers.

I am seriously at my witsend, I have no idea what could be causing this. It's frustrating as even when I upgraded my graphics card I got exactly the same problem.

Specs: CPU - AMD athlon X2 6000
GPU- Nvidia Geforce GTS
RAM 2 GB

Your specs aren't quit sufficient but i suggest making sure you don't have anything running in the back ground that would be draining your system's resources. Turn off all Anti-viruses and close all open windows (Firefox, I.E.) and see how that fairs.

What games are you playing becuase that could also effect it. When i start a new game of TF2 i get lag for a bit and i have a pretty decent rig.

Sounds like the game is trying to load something or its being interfered with by another app. Check your background services and apps, and defrag while youre at it. All it takes is one lame windows auto update to lag a game to hell.

Also, depending on the game (mostly older ones i think), there might be a "do texture precache" option you can set in the console or a game ini. Checking tweak guides for games is also a good idea, often the problem you have is common and theres a workaround.

On a side note, enabling v-sync, triple buffering, and limiting the "max frames to render ahead" to 1 or 0 (flip queue size on ati cards) in your video control panel can help with certain types of video lag and tearing.

This (http://www.fpsbanana.com/threads/118640) might help you with TF2.
