I missed them like hell and was lucky i got to come back the first time by getting discharged due to some unusual circumstances during BASIC. I don't even know why I want to join the military so badly. I don't agree with the war we're fighting (America) I wouldn't want to deploy to IRAQ, I am against murder and I know there is very little honor in our military. Theres really nothing in this city thats going for me, I don't have the best of friends and I waste alot of time studying for a career im only mildly interested in. I feel like I should go back and finish bootcamp since I wasn't allowed to before, you know it feel like a failure for not finishing.

The military is NOT for everyone, and as the previous poster said, you obviously don't sound like you want to give it your 100%.

If for whatever reason you still want to go into the service, then you better start emotionally detaching yourself from people close to you. Your depression from being not so close to your loved ones is going to be your eventual downfall.

Well first off where do you live? A change of scenery is always nice and the military will do that for you. Sounds like you just need independence and new scenery. Believe me if you don't have to learn lifes lessons the hard way don't join the military its not worth all the bullshit it will do to you as a person and mentality. My head is fucked up in more ways then I can think. I wish I could care about people but my emotions are dead and this goes with family too. Eventually as the years go by you just die off in the inside. I was one of those rebel outlaws who vowed the military wouldn't change me, now it has and I am pissed off I can't go back to my old persona.

I've been in for 5 years on a 4 year contract so stop lossed for a year in Iraq and getting out in March. Believe me its not worth it plus you automatically sign a 8 year commitment so if you do 4 years active you risk 4 years of getting called back up once your out which is my new worry.

Believe me move to a new city and step away from the family as much as you love them you need to grow on your own and learn you can function with or without anybody but yourself.
