View Full Version : Selling people's cell phone numbers?

So, those who use facebook are familiar with those groups that people make when they lose their cell phone, or break their cell phone, and they're obviously too stupid to figure out how to sync their friends phone numbers on their computers.

Basically, someone breaks their phone, loses all the numbers, so they make a group to let people know so they can get those numbers back. Well, instead of messaging the person who lost their phone, they fucking post their private cell phone number on the wall of the group, where anyone can see it.

I was wondering if there's anywhere I can sell these numbers to, or even just places I can post the numbers so they get solicited? I honestly don't care if I don't make any money off this, I just think it's COMPLETELY RETARDED that people post their private cell phone numbers on the internet where anyone can see them. I mean, I'm trying to teach these people a lesson to NOT POST your phone number on the internet.

So, any ideas?

Okay, its not my friends. You can go on to facebook right now, and search the groups for "lost cell phone". There are TONS of those groups, mostly public, and people just don't get it. Facebook does NOTHING to control this, although I've seen petitions on the matter, and letters to the people who run facebook, and nothing is being done. This is like, the opposite of phishing, since all the info is RIGHT THERE for everyone to see. I just need to find something to do with the numbers so that maybe facebook will start regulating this.

So since it's not your SSN you wouldn't mind posting your own cell number right?

post the numbers on craigs list. list things that people really want to buy so they get a lot of annoying phone calls. post the number in the personals section. upload a pic of a hot girl, or a gay, or a trannie. cl doesn't alloy you to post ur # in the erotic services unless u confirm the # with cl, so make a fake email and when the pervs e-mail you, give them the #. there's so much damage you can do on cl. much fun.

I'm not saying having private stuff as public is not stupid, it's just these people are putting that out there for help so they can get all their numbers back a lot faster than they normally would, for a common mistake (losing/breaking your phone) that almost everyone does at least once. Fucking with their phones doesn't teach anyone a lesson, it with just gives them a minor inconvenience that's not really even funny and everyone could do without. This is Bad Ideas, but at least focus on something that's actually interesting rather than stupid bullshit like prank phone calling people on facebook.

I guess if you really have NOTHING better to do you could use craigslist and give people their phone number and sit at home thinking about how much this could be annoying the person at the other end, but whatev.
I agree though, it is pretty stupid to put your number on facebook like that.
