To the original poster: There are a lot of threads in this forum about this kind of thing. What most of them sum up to is: put yourself out there. Nothing's going to just "land in your lap" - you've gotta go out and find what you're looking for. Go to the local club, party, bar, [random youth gathering] and meet people! Don't exclude anyone - you can always meet a girl through someone else, you know.

^ Ouch. Don't take that advice. A lot of people are probably going to say, yes, you are. That doesn't really make you one though, people are just going to want to be dicks.

I'm just seeing it as you're self conscious and just not very social. If you want to "break the cycle", start by trying to get out and do something new. One way to meet some new people, that are actually decent too, is to do some volunteer work. It's not all bad, I've had a volunteer job for the last 4+ years and I love doing it because it's a lot of fun. You'll end up making good friends. I'd think that it would be a good transition thing so to say, instead of just going out to some clubs etc.

Being overweight doesn't really have very much of an impact besides just on how you look/feel about yourself (read self-esteem/confidence). I have a few friends that are overweight but that doesn't stop them, they are awesome people and have lots of friends. Even girlfriend's, because of who they are.

Driver's license/job thing, I dunno so much about that, that's all highly situational (obviously). If you don't like going out and applying to many places, register yourself with a few temp agency's. I do that from time to time, easy way to get a job.

Really, you're only a loser if you believe you are.

Just take it one small step at a time. Get a drivers license, sign up for the gym, get a job, go to college.

It's your life dude, you can do accomplish whatever you want.

I would highly recommend that Op get a job. For one thing he will no longer be...well, unemployed, which should assuage his "loserdom" a bit; secondly, work is usually a good place to meet people/girls, make friends etc.

Oh well mate. I'm 18 and I have a six-pack, plus hundreds of friends, I go to scores of parties and play in a kick-ass band, and you've still had 1 more girlfriend than me. My advice is buy some new video games, and keep looking at porn to suppress any "urges" you might have. If you are sick of being bored, take up petty theft to support a drug habit.

If you have to ask, the answer is yes. Set some goals for yourself, and work out a game plan to complete them in as short a period as possible. It takes effort to live well.

You won't be able to fix it until you really want to fix it. So let met ask, where's your motivation coming from?
