View Full Version : Having a hard time doing astral projection

Last night I attempted astral projection for the first time. I started by just laying there, hands on my stomach under

my blanket with the fan on. My desktop computer was on and I could also hear that. At first I thought in my head

"iiiiiin, ooouuut" with my breathing pattern.

After about 4 minutes, my body started to feel a little bit as though it was sinking in, like lead, but that was only

a little bit. Then after about 7 minutes My fands started to go sort of like pins and needles, but also like a bit

numb. Then a bit after that, my eyelids and eyes started to sort of vibrate and wobble. At about 8 minutes, my vision

seemed to expand greatly and like I could see all around me, but I had my eyes closed the whole time. All this time,

thoughts kept coming to my head. This is what they were like: I could see myself from an angle other than first

person, like I was looking from at the ceiling. Then I would see first my torso rise up but my feet got stuck. Then I

pulled my feet free and I was able to move (I was doing this conciously), but then I knew that was just a thought and

it wasn't my goal of astral projection. I don't know how I knew this. Then my vision would go back to first person with me

as I was, just laying there with my eyes closed. After about 11-12 minutes I started to give up and my brain started

to enter a sleepy state, but then I would realise I was doing this and my brain would come back out of it. It repeated

this about 2-3 times. Then since I had sort of given up, lots of different thoughts came to my head and I was just

thinking about stuff. Before then, I had been trying to ignore thoughts and just keep my mind as blank as possible,

even though every millisecond different thoughts kept coming back and I just had to try and ignore them, even though I

was thinking about my progress into astral projection the whole time (I couldn't help it).

Once I decided to really give up, I thought to myself "wake up", just like I've read you do in astral projection, and my

body sort of jolted and I was back in a normal state. I don't know if my whole body really jolted, but that's what it

felt like.

Oh and while I was lying down, I couldnt help but keep producing saliva and I kept having to swollow it, sometimes

this felt like it was pulling me back.

I really am not too sure what's stopping me. Also I have a couple of questions,

1. When you astral project, are you looking through your own eyes (ie. first person), Or do you see yourself from

another point (eg. third person etc).

2. When you astral project, do you move around and fly with your mind completely and 100%, or do you actually use your

body/limbs as you would normally?

Thanks a lot, I'm quite new to this and it helps me a lot to talk to other people and learn stuff :)

And help you can offer would be greatly appreciated, I'm going to try this again tonight.

It helps if you have a specific destination and goal in mind. Clarity of intent is essential.

The best advice I can give for this is to do it early in the morning after an hour of walking and/or a cold shower. This will generate the right chemical/energetic change in yr person so that you're more able and capable of detaching from yr body but staying aware.

I'm talking anywhere from 4 AM to 8 AM.

To add on to this, I've heard lots of people say around 5 am... they've had successful projections.

Do you mean 5am before sleep, ie. staying awake till 5am and doing it or waking up really early and doing it soon after you wake up?

What some people do is sleep till time "x", then wake up with an alarm, drink some water + bathroom, and go back to sleep.

If you're a light sleeper or are up to date on your sleep... or have too little sleep-- this may not work.

I think you have to press square or something

Either way will work.

Sometimes sleep deprivation will help, other times you'll be so tired you'll just pass out.
