I'm going to make this as short as I can. I own a car stereo shop in east Texas. I have been in business for around 10 years. I have ran my small business on my own doing all the sales, installs, etc. (Whatever involves running a business...)

There is this guy that came to me about a year ago, and he wanted to work with me and help make my business better. This guy (Billy) has been doing car audio for around 25 years. He has done alot of high end jobs for high end clients. Some of these clients include Emmit Smith, Micheal Irvin, and other athletes and such. I will be the first to admit that he is really skilled at what he does. His work is top notch. You may be asking what is the problem??? Well, because he "thinks" he is so good he wants me to raise my prices, which I did. It has been hard for me to swallow because I want to give people cheap deals and I can't do it like I used to do it. He has like this ego deal that kinda pisses me off. He knows he is good and he thinks he deserves top dollar, but he said many times that he thinks he is too cheap.

This guy is 45 years old and I am 31. He talks about how he can get hot chicks and shit and deep down I just wanna say "dude, your not all that!" He doesn't really see that he's getting old and really washed up in the hot chick department. He thinks he is right about everything. (There is one point I also want to make.) Billy is a recovering drug addict. He is in a 12 step program because he had such a problem with drugs. I think his ego issue could be caused because of the drug problem he has had. So Totse, what can I do to control this dicks mind. How can I break him down, break his will???? I want to do it but in a way that is not straightforward. To slowly fuck him up. Help me fuck up this bitches world and become my installer slave!!!

Ask him if he wants to buy some drugs. Also pay a really hot girl to spend time with you in front of him. Also tell him some customers have been complaining about his workmanship and didn't think it was worth the money.

I guess they don't teach people in East Texas to fucking paragraph.

But aside from the wall of text I had to force myself to read, my suggestion would be to kick him to the curb. Next time he tells you to raise your prices, straight up fire his ass. At this point, verbally berate him about his age and inflated ego. Then slap the shit out of him.

Sorry struggling artist, I will try to bring down my wall of text! Thanks for the ideas thus far.

Step 1:

Find out his drug of choice.

Step 2:

Offer it to him and/or leave it for him to find.

Step 3:

Laugh when all his will and self-control fly out the window.

Step 4:

Report him to the cops and get him arrested.

Step 5:

Laugh when his reputation goes down the shitter and you get all his leftover work.

You are looking at this the wrong way. You don't need to destroy his confidence. You need to get some of your own. You are the business owner. You pay his wage. He works for you. Let him say how good he is. That does no harm. Next time he tries to push something on you believing it is better for your business that you don't approve of just tell him to keep to doing what he does best - installing them 'bomb ass subby setups that you are soooo mad at Billy' and to keep the fuck out of anything else. Good points to all of you. I will give these a shot, including boosting my own confidence. There is always more to every story. It goes deeper than my opening post. You see, along with car audio I also have a few rent houses. I am currently doing a remodel on that house. It needs some new cabinets. I asked Billy if he could build me some since he makes great subwoofer enclosures. Billy agreed that he could do it.

I asked him to do it because he works for me and we are supposed to be friends. He knows that this place is a cheap rent house and I want to do it as cheap as possible. We went today to measure for them and he hit me with this high ass price just for the labor. I mean this bitch didn't even give me a break at all. He basically is charging me like he would charge a regular customer.

In the past he has wanted to buy stuff from the shop at cost and I took care of him. When I need something though, he wants to screw me without KY! So along with his arrogance and such I'm slightly pissed and want to take his little cocky world down.

He may be the best installer or whatever, but YOU are the better businessman.
If he thinks differently, offer to let him loose so he may venture out on opening his own business. If you do that either two things will happen:
1. He will take you up on the offer and leave which is good so you won't have to work with his annoying ass ego
or
2. He will shut the fuck up and realize that you are the bossman

Destroying self confidence:

When he is with his "hot chicks" and you are there also, just mention how last night he didn't finish you off, and you do not recommend these "hot chicks" have sex with him because he sucks (sucks at sucking, basically).
