Well, I just came back from the psychiatrist with a prescription for Bupropion and Gabapentin(for my depression and anxiety, respectively) and I was wondering if anyone could impart upon me some wisdom about these pharms.

No, I am not asking if I can get ttly fuxx0rd off of these pills, I already know that I cannot(I like real drugs:) ). I just want to know about any possible negative side affects and interactions with other more recreational chemicals.
I have always refused anti-depressants until now, so I lack first hand experience with them, except that I know to stay the fuck away from SSRI's. Thanks for any help provided.

Alright well I don't know about gabapentin, but I've a very good experience with bupropion. The only negative side effects was it was really hard for me to sleep eventually, and also I had prettyuch zero appetite. But it was worth it and helped me a lot, except for when I had a seizure, so you should keep that in mind if someone in your family has epilepsy.

And then as far as reacting with any other chemicals/drugs you may like to indulge in, ive found no bad interactions. I know that opiates go fine with it, in my experiences it can mix with coke (probably should look into that more though) and then I'm pretty sure that I dropped acid while on it and didn't notice any difference in my trip. Oh, and I know adderall and bupropion can mix but you don't need to take as much, seeing that it's a stimulant. Oh, and last thing, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to take any rolls while taking bupropion (I'd look it up if you wanted to).

But yea, that's about it, in my opinion, bupropion is a great drug for depression.

Gabapentin's most common side effects in adult patients include dizziness, drowsiness, and peripheral edema (swelling of extremities);[17] these mainly occur at higher doses, in the elderly. Also, children 3–12 years of age were observed to be susceptible to mild-to-moderate mood swings, hostility, concentration problems, and hyperactivity. Although rare, there are several cases of hepatotoxicity reported in the literature.[18] Gabapentin should be used carefully in patients with renal impairment due to possible accumulation and toxicity.[19][20]

An increase in formation of adenocarcinomas was observed in rats during preclinical trials, however the clinical significance of these results remains undetermined. Gabapentin is also known to induce pancreatic acinar cell carcinomas in rats through an unknown mechanism, perhaps by stimulation of DNA synthesis; these tumors did not affect the lifespan of the rats and did not metastasize

If I recall, gabapentin does have (minimal) recreational value, but it's not worth it. From what I remember, you need to take a lot to produce a floaty kind of head high. Something I'd never try, though.

Well thats too bad about the rolls, I hope next time I score some molly I don't have to play guinea pig :p , I will have to look into that. I have pretty high hopes that Bupropion might actually help me set my life back on the right track and get myself out of the hole I was in, so thanks for the reassurance.

I read somewhere (most likely on this forum) that it can even potentiate the opiates or benzodiazepines I take, but I am not sure about the accuracy of that. That would be a useful side affect if true.

Also, I think the Gabapentin will help with any risk of seizures(to which I am not predisposed) and dull some of the negative side affects from the anti-deppresants, which is probably why I was prescribed it. Being under the age of 18 I don't think I will be getting prescribed anything actually recreational(benzos) for a while, but the Gabapentin at least chills me out and seems to prevent any panic attacks. My psych said that if it doesn't work out he might move me up to some clonazepam, which would be great.

I have been on Buspar for a while now and I hate it. The shit makes me dizzy, doesn't help my anxiety, and gives me terrible headaches. I've been calling this doctor to get my meds changed but they aren't calling me back so it's the waiting game.

How much Neurontin and how much Welbutrin? I've been prescribed to each of those for the exact same reasons, respectively, albeit not together; I'm curious as to what your dosing instructions are.

that shit (buspar) is the worst anti-anxiety med ever. I was up to 60 mg two times daily and it still didn't help.

Wellbutrin is the only antidepressant that ever helped me.

I am supposed to take 900mg of Gabapentin throughout the day at my discretion, and I am taking 150mg of Bupropion for the first week, and then I start taking 300mg's.
