im joining the air force so i can afford a school i would like to attend, because i am halfway sick of living paycheck to paycheck, so ill devote myself to a war, so i can pay a school 40,000 big ones a year so they can mold me into an artistic "free spirit?"
i dont think im doing this right.

Why do you have to pay a school so much money in order to become a free spirit?
Another thing. The hard truth is that artistic free spirited occupations generally do not make all that much money. I'm not saying that you shouldn't pursue art; I'm just saying that that's quite an investment to make (both the risk of your life and the tuition) for the ROI to be so low.
If I went to the military, I would choose the air force, so that's a plus.
Pi. Who knew that a potential free spirit would choose a handle so concrete.

the paying for the free spirit outlook is what i was referring to as a hypocritical joke..... im still unsure of the schooling bit, i am joining the airforce seeing as i already work with planes, but well see. all your reasons to not pursue art is why i didnt run off to art school in the first place, but now im thinking more into the sciences, which can also be aquired at this insanely expensive free thinking type of school. eh. who knows. i have a little bit of time maybe ill want to work hard at rank in the air force?
even so im glad im not choosing one side of things, id like to try it from both and not limit myself mentally.

It's good to see someone who's willing to analyze all sides of something and be willing to try (or not try) something different. Whatever you decide, don't let the man get you down!

Yeah I'm stuck in the Army, but when you get sick of it just smoke weed and get drug tested. It's how I'm getting kicked out ;)

Yea, an OTH discharge is a great way to get a jumpstart on a new career.

OTH? please explain.
Although I'm getting discharged it's not on any records unless I'm applying for a government job, who wants to work for the government anyway?
Information is free. A few decades ago attending school might be worthwhile. With the internet school is redundant. You don't need to pay $40,000 per year to listen to the same crap that you can read on the internet in your own time for free.

Basically you're paying that much for some wanker in an office to say you can do it by giving you a piece of paper.
