I have heard all over the web that Zoloft cannot be used recreationally, that it only works over a period of time. But I remember my doc telling me that it can give youa lift. So once I decided to try taking multiple Zoloft pills at once... i took between 6 50mg pills and 8 50 mg pills. And way... let me put it this way, this was the first day on zoloft and it got me buzzed up as if I was on coke, but for hours.

I don't think this was any placebo effect, because I was under the impression that Zoloft had no recreational use, but just thought I'd try it out. Little did I expect to be completely buzzing hard. Multiple times!! EVery time I took 6 or 8 I would begin to full on buzz.

Now, my question. Zoloft has this potential, is it dangerou to use SSRIs like this? Take a high does, then stop taking it for a while, then take alrge dose... as if it's just another upper?

Has anyone else had this experience? I met a girl yesterday who has had the same experience as me.

i took zoloft for about a year. i never used it recreationally, but on one occasion i fed one of my friends a handful of them. he reported some positive effects.

Yeah. Zoloft is meant to "regulate", or boost your serotonin over a long period of time as you slowly taper up your tolerance until you are at an acceptable level of non-depression (not happiness).

Taking a lot of Zoloft at once is just going to dick over your whole serotonin cycle and the hormonal system it utilizes in general.

the only time i was dumb enough to believe anti depressants could get me high was when i first began my drug career back in 6th grade. i had been smoking pot all summer between 5th and 6th, got into 6th and was introduced to a shit ton of pharms and pills from older kids in school. got my hands on everything from valium and xanax to adderal to hydrocodone and tramadol and zoloft and shit. was dumb enough to believe zoloft and other SSRI type shit would get me high until I snorted one in 6th grade and realized it was a crock of shit. the Xanax and opiate abuse kept on rollin, and continues to roll into my early 20s though!

Yes, it is dangerous to use high doses of SSRIs, and that's regardless of the frequency or period between times of use. Yeah, doing it days at a time is worse, obviously, but doing it even just once could land you with Serotonin Syndrome. Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serotonin_syndrome), read about it. From what I understand it's just as fun as jacking off with anti-freeze.

There's a good chance the "buzz" you feel is actually your body experiencing serious adverse effects.

Key word: moderate. As in, it gets worse.

Lol. Reminds me of when I took a single dose of Effexor the next day (or maybe the day after that) after an Ecstasy binge. Man was I ever light headed and floaty feeling... I was wired enough to pay attention and yet sleepy as hell yet I couldn't sleep because it was all in my head. My blood pressure was a bit higher which cured my cig cravings but damn did I ever want chocolate. The positive effect was that I just didn't particularly give a shit and I couldn't think particularly clearly. To be honest, those are all the symptoms that I ALREADY HAVE and would like to GET RID OF instead of MAKING WORSE.
WTF man. What are those things good for besides curing your craving for serotonergic drugs like how bupropion kills your craving for cigs? not depression, that's for sure. I think I even suffered partial/micro seizures too, I had that weird feeling in my head like my brain was being shocked by small bolts of static electricity and that would seriously screw up my attention span.

I was given Zoloft years ago, before I was diagnosed with bipolar. What a fucking nightmare it was! It not only made me a very angry person a lot of the time, it made my moods flip way worse than the bipolar unmedicated. It also made me violent and I am not a violent person. I got into a fight with my wife and tried to choke her.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to try it for fun.

Zoloft is retarded in every way. Trust me on this. Don't take it.

If you're trying to get fucked up, go whine to whoever wrote you the script some more. Except this time, whine about physical pain or attention deficit disorder instead of how sad you are or how fucked up in the head you are. Do not whine about these things even if they are true because doing so will never get you any drugs that will fuck you up.

Otherwise, Zoloft is still a terrible drug that zombified me for months and made ejaculation nearly impossible. Only a complete idiot would try to abuse Zoloft. The idea itself is preposterous. If you're that desperate to get fucked up, hit up your friend's dealer for a dime bag and smoke it out of a gravity bong. Filch your mother's vicodin. Pay a drunk five dollars to get you a case of beer. Just fucking anything other than Zoloft man.
