A little backround on the situation:

About 4 months ago, me and my current best friend reconcile our friendship after months of fighting. Shortly after, she tells me she likes me. This was about a week before my relationship with my current girlfriend started, which I'm sure pissed my friend off..You know...Because we were so close and she had told me how she felt, then straight away I went for another girl. Yeah.

Anyway, for the first few weeks of my relationship, my bestfriend still said she wanted to be my girlfriend, but wasn't going to act on it. Then she stopped for a couple of months.

So about 2 months ago, my best friend gets a new boyfriend. As soon as she gets her new boyfriend, she applies this bitchy "I don't need you anymore blah blah" attitude to me, without actually saying it. That pissed me off and we had a fight that lasted about a week.

After we resolved this, things were going well between me and her. Then my girlfriend broke up with me. I was pretty upset about it, and my best friend applied a "I saw it coming, you're better off without her" attitude as opposed to a sympathetic one.

The next fucking day, I get back together with my girlfriend. Then I take totse's advice and break up with her again (see my 100 post thread).

The same day I break up with my girlfriend, my best friend starts a fight with her boyfriend over the phone and they break up.

Shortly after, my girlfriend comes back and asks me to take her back. Of course, realizing how stupid it was to listen to the internet about my relationship, I couldn't say no.

My best friend starts criticizing me for my decision, saying "Why did you take her back? The same fucking thing is just going to happen again? I think it's a stupid choice."

I disagree with her and say I stand by my decision.

So the very next day, my best friend calls her boyfriend and works things out. :confused:

Unfortunately for you I only read the part about her being a cheating whore. My comment wasn't intentionally asshole-ish, I genuinely thought she was a cheater.

So in any case, you have to make a decision about which girl you want to be with. If you want to be with your current gf, then don't do anything. If this other girl is your best friend, she'll deal with it. Maybe later on you two will get together or patch up your friendship. Usually, though, girls lose interest after a while, so you'll want to be with her later and she won't want to be with you.

If you break up with your current gf and try to date the friend, she might decide she doesn't want you anymore because she only liked you because she couldn't have you.

It's all a big gamble. Decide which girl you want and act accordingly.

Well thanks, though I will say I was never considering leaving my girlfriend and getting with my bestfriend. I was more wondering if she still liked me (which you confirmed) and what to do about it, because it kind of gets in the way of us being friends sometimes.

Also, my girlfriend hates the shit out of my bestfriend, but assures me that who I choose to be friends with is up to me, and she's fine with it. Is this a lie? Is my girlfriend secretly testing me to see if I'll ditch my best friend just to please her? :confused:

Sorry about the misunderstanding. Tell your friend in a polite, non-argumentative way, to stop playing those stupid fucking games with you. Tell her you care way too much about her as a friend but your in a serious relationship now and you couldn't be happier. All she should want is for you to be happy if she is your best friend.
