I always wonder if anyone has ever done this. I received a prescription from my doctor and the papers looked so simple and so easy to duplicate. Is this possible?

Looked similar to this but it was more simple and less words.

Anything is possible, can it be done? Sure, you should do it and report back.

you can make a shitload of money doing this but it is illegal and some pharmacies will call

All pharmacies will call the prescribing doctor's office, especially for anything fun. This is law in many places (possibly Federal, I can't be arsed to check).

You ever wonder why when you get a prescription filled it takes so fucking long just to count out 30 pills and put them in a bottle? That's why. They're calling your doctor and verifying that you're allowed to have what they're about to give you.

This is also why Pharmacies always follow doctor's hours, and aren't open at night or on holidays.

Then how does Walgreens have a 24 hour pharmacy?

How do people come in at 3am and get their prescription filled? They call and wake the doctor up?

I'll bet their pharmacy capacity is limited during nighttime hours. Large healthcare providers probably have automated telephone or computer-based systems for publishing prescription information. Ten to one they won't or can't fill prescriptions for certain things like painkillers prescribed by smalltime doctor's offices until morning. They probably also force you to "register" with them your prescription, invariably during the daytime when they can verify (and determine how many refillis, etc.) and then you can come back for refills anytime afterwards until you run out.

If your prescription gets filled during the day you can also pick it up anytime.

I guarantee you there is verification of some sort, either telephone, fax, or electronic. Especially for painkillers, opiates, etc.

I would go in there and fill the fake prescription out for my grandmother and say she needs 30 80mg of oxycottin a month

Not to my knowledge. I got a prescription for Vicodin and went to Walgreens at 3 in the morning and it was all cool. Speedy filling and everything considering no one was there. They could have some sort of electronic verification but how? My doctor didn't know what pharmacy I was going to.

When your doctor writes you a prescription and gives it to you, his (or her) office often calls it in to the pharmacy you select. This is why a doctor can phone things in for you without actually seeing you. (My uncle does this for me all the time, as I can't be buggered to go to a doc every time I get a sniffle.)
If that doesn't happen they have to verify it with the doctors office. After hours, this is handled by an answering service that is provided with all the necessary information before closing.

So if you could get access to the answering service by social engineering or whatever other means could you pose as a doctor providing them information then just go to the pharmacy after hours with a fake script?

The answering service is paid by the doctors office. Try calling your docs office. No, right now. The people that answer are that service.
You might think you could go for a bit of a long con and pose as a doc, hire the service, and call in a ton of pills, but for that you'd need to be a real doctor, as there's a lot of verification and numbers to prove your bona fides.

I'm not sure about that. I'd guess there were procedures in place. Research is never a bad thing.

OP, good luck trying to forge a script for, of all things abusable, OxyContin-- or as you called it, "oxycottin". It's only one of the most powerful narcotics available and very likely the most abused and desirable pharmaceutical of all right now with probably 90% of forgery attempts being in regards to it.

And not only are you going to attempt to forge OC, but hey, let's just go right for the highest dosage formulation we can get! Good idea making sure to write it for a 30 count, too, because everyone knows that a legitimate doctor would give an OxyContin patient taking 80 milligram pills-- someone who is opiod tolerant and in need of around the clock pain relief-- just one 12 hour pill a day so that they can spend the other 12 hours in agony from whatever condition they have that makes them need OC 80s in the first place. Right? Right.

Oh, and have fun forging the entirety of the triplicate prescription papers that are required for things like OC; I'm sure you can pull that one off no problem.

And lastly, if somehow this crack-pot junkie-scheme actually worked, which would only be theoretically possible with a 60-count forgery, I hope you've got the $600 or so that it would cost for 60 tablets of 80s without insurance.

Yeah true but could you actually pull it off?

If I knew all the procedures for how the doctor relayed the information to the answering service then I don't think it would be that difficult. Where are all the doctors cheating on their wives so I can just blackmail them?

Heres how i would do it:

First find a neighborhood doctor and go to him say you've been having pain works especially good if your a girl who bleeds a lot. They will prescribe a mild pain reliever.

Ask them if their is a number you can call if you need to get it refilled or how would you go about doing this since you can't afford to pay the $100 just to see him every time of the month. So he'll probably do a prescription for certain times of the month for just a 5 day supply and have you come by every month for it.

You should find all needed info on the prescription + license numbers and telephone numbers

Then go to ringcentral.com and create a local number that will forward it to a prepaid phone. You can during business hours setup it to forward or afterhours do the whole message system whenever you create a pharmacy prescription then you can have them call it.

Sorry about rambling i thought of it but then idk it might give someone an idea

Hell no they don't, that would take ages. They call about controlled substance prescriptions, and only the real suspicious ones. Unusual handwriting, invalid/no DEA No, prescription not written in the proper format/with proper abbreviations (Disp:, Sig:, PO, PRN, tab, cap, sid, bid, tid), and especially unusual quantities/doses. Experienced pharmacists can spot a bogus script the moment you hand it over.
