I dropped my external harddrive and it broke so I wanna try install it in my desktop comp but the harddrive in my comp at the moment is an IDE drive and I can only see IDE plugs in there. Do I have to get some kinda adapter or would there be SATA plugs buried in there?

Not all computers have SATA connectors on the motherboard. If you can't find one, you can buy a PCI SATA controller card to connect a SATA drive to.

http://www.addonics.com/ has a TON of neat little adapters for almost anything you'd need. but as mentioned above, you could also get a PCI SATA controller.

Nah nah, forget that.

www.dealextreme.com for the win. Free shipping and a SATA to IDE adapter for like 4 bucks.

Those $4 adaptors are to connect an IDE drive to a SATA port, not a SATA drive to an IDE port.

Dealextreme = awesome. I've ordered a ton of stuff off them.
