Anyone know what they do with them.(Wehrenberg theaters and others) I think it would be pretty badass if you had a giant poster covering ur entire wall.

the poster fairy comes in the middle of the night and brings them off to her poster-palace

The movie theater here sells pretty much all their movie stuff. Pre-release postsers, released posters, big cardboard displays, really big posters (like a vinyl of some sort).

The normal posters generally sell between $2-$20 depending if they are popular or trying to clear them. For stuff that is popular you have to in and put down your name quite early.

I figure most places would sell them.

I live in a smaller community and they just give their stuff away if you ask them nicely. Just the other day my friend asked if he could have the big Dark Knight display at the local videostore. We lit Batman on fire. :)

At the local theater here that stuff gets thrown out if none of the staff want it. If you're friends with someone who works there you can get the promotional posters and cardboard cut outs and such for free. Same goes for this one big box grocery story. My friend works there and he has a cardboard cutout of WallE that has LED lights that flash and it makes noises and all...very cool stuff.

Metaphysicist is a giant poster and I've never seen him at a movie theatre.

The theater near my house sends most of their stuff back to corporate. But some of the smaller stuff they'll just give you if none of the employees have claimed it.

They're horribly easy to steal. I've got two of them in my bedroom.

They shouldn't be doing that. I worked my way to a manager at a cinema chain here in The U.K. and you're not supposed to sell displays or the massive wall-sized posters etc. They're to be destroyed or sent back to the production companies. It works under licensing, copyright etc. Same reason as why you're not permitted to use camera/recording equipment in the cinema. It breaches copyright. I never agreed with all of it but that's the way it is.

Smaller ones usually get given away to the staff although you can buy many of those from a store anyway.

But when you're still in high school and feeling rebellious it's more fun that way. ;)
