I have a dell Inspirion 1721 that came with vista on it. Well, 3 days ago I accidently fucked it up and well i had to reinstall windows. This required formatting my computer. When i formated I reinstalled windows Vista 32 bit and I had 2 Partitions of my hard drive. The one partition C: is 10 gigs The other , D:, the 220 gig. Well i installed all of my OS setup on the 10 gig partition. Well now everything automatically saves to the 10 gig partition and the only way to save things to the 220 gig partition is to manual movie them. I either want to transfer everything over to partitions D: with 220 gig. Or just merge them so that I have 1 drive and no partitions. Plz help!

Vista's built in partition manager may allow you to delete the other partition then expand the vista partition to fill the whole space. Right click on computer>manage>disks or something like that.

if i delted my D:, the 220 gig partition, will that add the space onto the other partition or will it just become allocated space or whatever its called?

It will become unformatted and you won't have access to it without using a partition program. You can then merge it with the existing partition. Not sure if vista will let you do that. If not just download the live version of Gparted and use that. If it's at the end of the current partition it should do if fairly quickly, otherwise it could take a while to complete.
