Some sites are legit, some are rip offs. As far as I've seen, there's no specific determining factor for checking it out short of actually placing an order and seeing if you get it.

Do you live in a major city, or at least close to one? There should be a place that sells "novelty id's" somewhere within said city. I've never seen the point of purchasing online and taking the risk, but do you.

You know, sometime after I posted that I read that it was legal to possess "novelty ID" in Canada. That must be the reason for it being easy here.

Novelty is not illegal in the United States, either, but they don't sell them at shops.
